Chapter 14 - Penguins, a Queen and a Nuclear Bomb

Sshe’ss’Sshitt’y grabbed Ceremony’s foot and held on stubbornly. He tried to kick her free but she held her ground. This was not going to be settled easily.

But then, like a holy light, came a roaring howl followed by torrents of snow, and Ceremony knew the Penguins had arrived. He looked up expecting to see the little black and white bodies, but found only the frozen moronic faces of his Marines.

There was a long pause in which nothing was said or done, and Ceremony was beginning to wonder why not. He reached around in his boot and pulled out a rock which had been bugging the hell out of him this whole story, and chucked it one of the Marines. His head and body erupted in shards of ice that rained down on the two strugglers.

"Ha!" scoffed Shitty. "At least mine don’t freeze!"

There was a moment of awkward silence as shards of frozen Aliens poured over the hatch. The silence was only broken by the soft sobbing of Shitty.

So now what? Were the two just going to stay there forever? Heck, no! What type of ending is that? Nah, the Penguins came over, looked down the hatch, and started laughing their little asses off before leaving.

"Ship!" said Ceremony, "Ship, self-destruct in 3 … 2 … 1 … now!!"

The ship started the implosion by creating a gravitational field in the exact center of the bottom ship. This ball started to suck in everything around it – even itself. Eventually it collapsed and started sucking in everything around it into one tiny point. Metal screamed as it was tortured; Aliens and people screamed and screeched as they were torn, atom-by-atom, into the center.

Then it stopped. For exactly one billionth of a second, it stopped before erupting in the largest man-made explosion ever. It vaporized everything and anything in its path, eventually destroying an area twice the size of the sun, leaving no planet, no space-dust – no anything – floating within the blast radius.

Silence.
