seems that some things were ace in the last film
(elongated wristblades, huge shoulder cannons, celtic etc etc)
and some decitions didnt go down so well for mr anderson
(predators face , rubbery dreads, lack of slime, heroic attitude)

what direction would you take the predator into if you were the designer for AVP2??

have fun cant wait for ideas

Id make the predator more darker and more scarier, like the first 2 predator movies, the predator shouldnt lert anything get in there way and they should take no s#]t from any one

indeed

hated the white dvd cover for avp shows so much off and makes it look not as scary,,

they should go all out as far as attitude and let loose a real oldschool badass pred this time

i do agree there were a few pros about the avp preds, specifically for me, the body build, seemed... less human than the pred 1 and 2 guys were, but there were other things there that just totally killed it all (the face and teeth!)

some of the novel covers have some pretty good looking designed preds

I'd agree with the body design was good being less human the teeth is a real no and the mandible in AVP looked weird because they didn't shut properly like the in Pred 1. The preds in AVP were ruined by the fact they were made all heroic and though the rules of the hunt are with honour it doesn't mean teaming up with a human. Like in Pred 1 to when the Pred gets confronted he puts down the plasma canon and fights hand to hand compared to scar teaming up with Lex.AVP2 needs to have some real confrontation and no cut on hunting scenes. Maybe a Badblood running around.NO limits in the killing and no rules

The whole teeth-thing put aside (I've ranted enough about that) one thing I would definitely add is some wear & tear, some dirt and generally a more realistic look. The AvP predators looked as shiny and plasticy as a brand new toy, I think that made them look a lot less realistic than the design in the two Predator movies.

And I also understand that A) they're in an arctic area with snow and ice and not much muddy rainforest to dirty them up, B) they're fresh in from their space ship and C) they were rookies which would mean less field experience and a less worn down look in general. So even though it was probably more realistic in those ways to have them look the way they did, I still thought it killed a lot of the creatures realism to have all the shiny armor etc.

If I put the original Predator movie on and skip to the scenes in the end where the predator is coming after Dutch, when he's under the log coughing blood etc... there's just no comparison in terms of realism to something like AvP. In my opinion though, even the predator in Predator 2 looked a little fake compared to the first one, especially the closeups when they're hanging on to the building.

I like how a rush job done almost 20 years ago looks better than anything that came after it, with more time, more resources and more money.

I say they should drop the comic-book silhouette of the first AvP movie and go back to the original.

I am completely with you on that. It just doesn't suit them teaming up with humans

if they made a movie based on Prey i wouldn't mind to see that team up again, but only then, Mariko Noguchi earned Dachande's respect.. the lady in AVP, lex or something was it? didn't do a whole lot to earn that pred's respect, at least not like Noguchi did
