I was just a few seconds ago looking around bored bit I just figured out ..... well you know that the aliens are really smart but in avp prey the comic it says the aliens are dum it said the hard meat (aliens) save for the queens, were no smarter than dogs, but they were fierce and deadly game good prey upon which to train young warriors..... this to me is exactly how avp messing up the aliens ad it seems theyre also making the aliens to weak and that keeps bothering me they need to stop making the aliens dumer and thy are also making them weaker!

Firstly comics aren't canon. Don't take anything in them as fact.

The aliens in the first AvP were pretty strong and smart. Second one, not so much,

Well, they were at least strong and fast. I never got the feeling they were portrayed as too overly bright, although certainly not stupid either.

In avp 2 they were only smart when the predator wasn't around. in the other movies they were smart even smarter then humans in some ways.

I don't take comics as canon either. I see them as their own universe based on the films (at least in Alien's case).

As far as how smart the animals are. I'm sure they are not born that smart but they learn. In Aliens they cut the power. In Alien Resurrection that creature learned to stay away when the guy pressed the button and later pressed it himself to make the guy freeze. That proves they do learn.

They know they have acid blood, hence the way they attack eachother when they need to melt a hole in the floor to escape.
