I was just wondering which version of Alien3 do you like better: standard or quite freshly released director's cut.I love the newer one much more.It makes more sense, has a lot better atmosphere and finally is equally as good as the first 2 parts.

Unfortunately I haven't seen the new version of Alien 3 myself, but I've heard a lot of talk about the alien being born out of an ox instead of the dog. If this is true, how the heck do they incorporate that into the story? They don't keep cattle in the prison leadworks do they?

In fact they do! And it fits in the story, as they use them for work. At the beginning you can see that they use them to bring what was left of the ship that crash-landed nearby with Ripley onboard. And the scene with the Alien emerging from the dead bull is great. Alien runs away in such a funny way. It's awesome. ;-)

Hehe, I see

But, in that case, what happens to the dog? Does it die some other way, or is it not in the movie at all in that version?

No good old Spikey, or whatever his name was.
There is no dog at all. And it is much better this way. To tell you the truth I always felt sorry for this innocent doggie when it was dying in pain. I didn't like that part. In the new version the bull is dead when the chestburster starts his journey.
Anyway, you have to see this version. I wonder if you would like it better than the original, like me.

No Dog, I prefer the New Verson...but still, the same plot holes!

Which plot holes are you referring to? Do you mean where the egg/facehugger came from?

Well, Mamma was on the ship, wasn't she? So she could lay some eggs there.
One or two could even be brought on the ship attached to her, she was pretty slimy. ;-)

Maybe while Bishop was waiting for Ripley a drone snucked aboard and hid with the Super facehugger egg. Then when everyone was asleep it planted the egg and died.
