\Chapter 1

As Ambrose sat at his monitor, drinking coffee, watching the game, he wondered about his life. It all seemed like a hollow shell after he got out of high school, he was glad to be out of there anyway, though, constantly beat up, and picked on, he just didn't fit in. He had always wanted to be a writer, he'd even written a couple of stories, he just hadn't published them yet. He looked over to see Ashley was asleep. He shook his head and smiled, he wouldn't bother waking her up, she was a heavy sleeper. Nolan was sitting in his office, his boss, he was glad he could hire him, he had feared nobody would, he just had to get enough money for college, then he would be outta here. Ambrose's thoughts were interrupted when he saw a strange wind reading, too fast to be an approaching storm, "What the hell?" was all that escaped his lips. Then, the whole building started to shake.

Ash awoke and Nolan dropped his paper and rushed over to the monitor. "What's going on Ambrose!?" asked Nolan. Then the monitor shut off. Ambrose's face went blank as it stopped. "Earthquake?" asked Ambrose. "In Alaska?" Nolan shook his head. He opened the blinds to see nothing but thick fog outside. "Something weird is going on." he said. He rushed to the closet and immediately began throwing on weather equipment. Ambrose stood up. "Are you going out there?" Ash stood up behind him. "Yep, and you two are coming with me." Just then the power went out. Nolan hesitated and looked around. "Okay, get your things together, looks like we're going to Bear Ridge." Ambrose nodded and began packing his clothes and belongings. As soon as the trio were packed and dressed, Nolan started his truck. Ash hopped in the back, and Ambrose in the passenger seat. As Nolan was backing up he slammed on the breaks, "Shit!" Ambrose looked at him wild eyed. "What happened?" Nolan shook his head. "Do you remember the damn grand canyon being next to the outpost?" he asked getting out of the truck. Ambrose and Ash exchanged glances, and got out as well. As they rounded the truck, Ambrose's breath caught in his mouth as he joined Nolan's side. They were staring down into the blackness of a massive gorge, and the truck was just inches from backing off into it.

"That's strange." said Ash holding her hand over it. "What is?" asked Ambrose, a hint of confusion, and fear in his voice. "There's... there's heat down there. There's some sort of heat coming from down below." As Ash got down on her knees and stuck her face over the edge as did Ambrose. He instantly got a huge wave of heat on his face as well, and something which smelled of burning metal, and, burning flesh. "Okay, let's... let's get going..." said Nolan, backing away slowly. The two stood up. "Yeah... creepy..." They got back in and took off down the snow covered path. They hadn't noticed the strange spider-like creature hop in the back of their truck...

\Chapter 2

~~~~
Nolan pulled onto the main road, driving slowly. Bear Ridge was a small, quiet Alaskan town, always covered in snow year round. There were only a few vehicles driving by, and only a few residents outside, mainly just gathering firewood or yard work. The snow coming down was almost too thick to see through. Nolan spotted a glowing red sign. 'Foothills Lodge' The downpour was too thick to see through now and he didn't want to risk wrecking. "Okay, we're going to stay here for a night and then we'll call an electrician in the morning." said Nolan pulling into a parking space and turning off the vehicle. He sat back in his seat and sighed heavily. "You want me to pay man?" asked Ambrose, obviously seeing he was very tired. "No, I will. You need every penny." he said getting out.
Ambrose awoke to the ringing of his phone. He picked it up and slammed it back down. "Damn wake up calls." He got up and headed into the bathroom, looking at himself in the mirror. He wasn't a very big man, at just under five nine and just over one-forty, he was pale with blue eyes and dark brown hair that came down below his ears. He put his clothes on and headed out into the lobby. It was a big room, with a large fireplace illuminating it. He yawned and saw a group of people talking near the large flat screen television, he saw one of them holding up what appeared to be a large crab looking thing. "It was latched onto his face and..." was all he could make out before walking up to Nolan and Ash who were sitting on a couch. "Is the power back on?" asked Ambrose. Nolan nodded. "What's going on over there?" asked Ash looking over her shoulder. Nolan shrugged. "They found a guy laying face down in the snow next to our truck, when they turned him over that thing was attached to his face, the police then found him dead, looked like someone had just shot him in the chest with a shotgun, I wasn't there, just what I heard from them." This was strange, but all Ambrose could think about was getting back to work, just last year he was lazy, and lethargic, yet now, he was almost a workaholic. "So when are we going?" asked Ash.
They arrived back to see the whole place taped off and a whole bunch of black trucks and a helicopter outside the outpost, there were men all around the large crater now. The trio got out. "What the hell is going on?" asked Nolan. "Oh, glad you could arrive. You must be the owner of this place." said a heavyset man walking up to Nolan. "I'm Glenn Bogart, glad you could arrive, and you are?" "Nolan Moran. These are my associates Ambrose Connor and Ashley Miller, we run the weather outpost... um, what is going on here?" he asked, with a fake smile. A heavyset police officer then walked up to him and whispered something in his ear. Bogart nodded and turned back to Nolan. "I think it would be best if you came back tomorrow, or, how about just relocating, this place is under quarantine." he said, with a smile so fake Ambrose almost laughed. Nolan didn't smile at all. "Sir... what is going on here?" He asked. "Just leave." Bogart replied, still smiling. "No, tell me, what the hell is going on here." Bogart shook his head. "I... I'm going to have to ask you to leave, Mr. Moran. Leave now.. or there will be trouble." Ambrose noticed a group of police officers watching them. "Nolan, let's just go." said Ambrose. "You're being shut down." he said. "Leave." "My work here isn't finished." replied Nolan. "Let's go." retorted Ambrose curtly. Bogart's smile disappeared. "It is now."
Nolan stepped back to the truck, climbing into the seat. Ambrose joined him, and Ashley climbed into the back. Nolan rested his head on the steering wheel. "Hey, let's, let's just go back to the lodge." said Ambrose. "I think it's time for a break anyway, not to mention, we can get out of this freezing hellhole, and go back to, well, where it's warm." said Ambrose trying to cheer him up. Nolan started the truck. "You're right, being negative is only going to attract more negative things." As Nolan pulled out, Ambrose felt a presence by the window, like, somebody was there... he just didn't see them.
~~~~

The next day, they arrived back to see, everyone... gone. It was roped off again, with a different color tape. There were investigators everywhere. Ambrose threw up when he nearly tripped over a human head. "Officer, what the hell happened here?" Nolan asked a nearby police officer. The officer shrugged. Some people came in and wiped the place clean, there were over a dozen bodies, I'm glad you all weren't here.

Over the next few days, people began dissappearing, from both the town and surrounding towns. There were also strange animal sightings. Ambrose figured it was just bears, but he wasn't sure. It didn't feel right. Something was strange, dark, with the stench of death in the air. Ambrose managed to get a job driving log trucks back and forth in and out of the city, and it was confusing, very confusing, since it seemed like it was night all the time. His boss was a strange man who Ambrose only knew as Hank, a large man with long hair and a thick beard, he kind of reminded him of a bear. The two only talked when Hank was giving him a job to do, not to mention he was very rude. Ambrose hated being in his presence, but it was the only job he could get. Hank had just finished berating an out of towner when he interrupted Ambrose as he was getting into his truck. "Hey, new guy!" Ambrose had hoped he could get away with the load he had, and avoid Hank all day, it was too good to be true. "Get over here!" Ambrose slinked back out of the truck, slamming the door. As Ambrose approached he stood there with his arms crossed, looking back and forth between him and the truck. "You call that a load?" he asked. Ambrose shrugged. "You're gonna get more firewood, you understand... you've only been with us for..." chills ran down Ambrose's spine... someone was behind him... standing there, but Hank didn't seem to notice. Ambrose always had that trait. Everytime he sensed someone was coming down the hall to his bedroom as a child, there had always been either his mom or younger brother, standing there at his door. Whenever he had sensed someone was there, he was always right. Hank was snapping at him now. Ambrose quickly nodded fakely, and turned around. Nobody was there... but... there was, they were still standing there, but, nobody was there. He then slowly reached his hand out. "Hey! Turn around." As his hand touched something that wasn't there... he screamed and fell backwards. "WHAT THE HELL!" was all that managed to escape from his mouth. There had been someone... or something there. He noticed twigs breaking, and footprints appearing in the snow, but nothing there. What he had felt had been warm, and clamy, not human skin... it was... blending in with its environment. Hank had seen it too. "Okay, i'm gonna kill that rat sonovabitch right now!" said Hank grabbing an axe. Ambrose shook his head. "No.. no don't do it." Ambrose grabbed the axe but Hank whirled around, hitting him right in the nose. Ambrose's nose began bleeding. "You asshole!" Ambrose retaliated by kicking Hank right in the face. Hank stumbled back holding his jaw, dropping the Axe. Ambrose then got to his feet and reeled back about to hit him, but the large man caught his fist and hit him square in the chest, sending him to the ground. Ambrose got back up but the man tripped him and kicked him right in the ribs. Ambrose screamed in pain. "Stay down, you little wimp." Hank grabbed the Axe and disappeared into the forest. "I hope you get what you deserve!" said Ambrose, still lying on the ground, holding his broken nose.

~~~~
Hank walked through the ankle deep snow, the massive trees casting large shadows across the ground. He held his axe tight in his hands. Then, he heard something that sounded like 'purring' or 'clicking'. He whirled around, backing into trees, and holding his axe tightly against his self. "Where are ya!" He screamed. Now he wasn't so confident. He was scared... really scared. He heard the noise again. "Sh... show yo...yourself!" He said. Whirling around again. Then he heard a tree branch cracking and something landing heavily behind him. He screamed and ran, dropping his axe and running wildly into the woods. He then tripped over something large. He turned around to see one of his workers, flayed, his skin removed, and blood everywhere. He screamed louder than he had ever screamed in his life. Screamed until something threw him into the tree behind him.
He coughed up blood as he fell to the ground. "What do you want from me!?" he screamed through sobs. He looked all around, holding his head, and screamed some more. He was cut short as he was hit again. This time with something metal, and across the head. He screamed and got to his feet. "I'm not going down without a fight!" he screamed. Then he felt something hit him hard in the chest. Then he was hit again from the side, sent flying into a tree. Whatever was attacking him, there were more of them... there was atleast two. He was hit again, he heard a sickening crack as his arm snapped backwards. He screamed, and then it all went dark as he felt something stab through his chest. The last vision before he died was a large metal 'pole' appear out of nowhere.
~~~~

Ambrose was running faster than he ever had. He scrambled into the driver's seat of his truck and quickly began trying to start it. "Come on! START!" He screamed as he heard footsteps approaching. "You motherf**ker!" Ambrose heard Hank's voice... but he realized it wasn't Hank... he had heard him scream, he was sure the whole town did. Suddenly the truck started and Ambrose sped off, forgetting to close the tailgate as his haul spilled out behind him. Ambrose caught a glimpse of a shape appear behind him in his mirror, and he floored it. The shape had just been standing there, appearing out of nowhere, just standing there, staring at him as he sped away. Then.. out of nowhere, a bright blue orb erupted from its shoulder and impacted with the back of the truck, sending it flying off the cliff.

~~~~
~~~~

When Ambrose awoke he had been asleep for days, as the snow was piled up atop the truck, which was lying on it's back. Ambrose felt dried blood on his head and two deep gashes across his forehead and nose. He crawled out and got up onto his knees, he realized his leg was hurt bad, possibly broken. He was able to put a little pressure on it. He got up and scurried his way up the hill. More dead bodies. As he managed to hobble his way to the nearest gas station to ask for directions he noticed the gas station was deserted, and all was quiet... save for a constant eerie 'breathing' sound. As he approached, looking for any sign of someone, he knocked on the door, first lightly, then heavily. He moved on... searching for somebody... anybody... nobody in sight, at all.

~~~~
Ambrose continued, going by buildings, knocking a couple of times, entering some that were open, then continuing onwards. Mostly everyone was gone. He stopped to ask a few solitary civilians, but they simply looked at him with their wild-eyed stares like animals and ran off, driven insane, but by what? He finally managed to find an old woman, who seemed to just be sitting there on a bench, staring off into space. As he got closer he realized she was blind, her pupils an eerie white. "Ma'am, do you have any idea what's happening?" he asked. She continued to stare off onwards. No use. He continued to the lodge.
\Chapter 3
~~~~

The Predator Mother Ship was quiet. The Leader Yautja was a blooded warrior, he had fought the Hard Meat before, just not in this quantity. He saw the screens showing hive break-outs all around Earth, on the Continents the humans called America, and Europe. The screens viewed human soldiers fighting the hard meat in both desert, jungle, and tundra environments. There were hundreds of hives, something must have been releasing them, but what. A large yautja with an angular bio helmet, designs carved into it, approached him, handing him a data pad. The warrior pressed a button and he saw a 'W' symbol appear on it, and when he translated it, it said, 'Weyland Industries were the ones responsible for releasing the hard meat from the subterrain prisons. "Cjit!" growled the warrior, throwing the PDA on the floor, smashing it into bits. The hard meat now had to be stopped using military means, the hunt was impossible now, now... they had to go to war. The first strike team of roughly a dozen soldiers had been sent to the area marked 'Iraq', where an Alien hive had sprouted up in a desert down.

~~~~
Corporal Nathan Zimmer fired away at the strange new creatures with his M4 Carbine. The first ones were like oversized scorpion type things, were much larger, but these new creatures could turn invisible, and they had ranged weapons. The rounds ripped through the stomach of one of the hunters, the spray of green gore littering the ground. Zimmer finished it off with a knife to the spine, or where he figured it would be. "Sir! There are roughly eleven more!" said Private JP Lissome to the Sergeant. "Good, I want a clean sweep, we need to toast the rat shit sons of bitches before the company shows up. Mr. Weyland isn't getting his 'specimens' like he asked." said Sergeant Lawson. "Give 'em hell marines." As the squad of five advanced the sun bright in the sky beat down on him, and toasting his gun, making it hot. As they moved into the village they were attacked by another one of the hunters.
It dropped down from the top level, fragging Private Gibbs, "Open fire!" yelled Lawson. They took the beast down quick, a hail of gunfire was no match for its armor. "Damnit! Gibbs!" yelled Lawson. "C'mon sir, here they come!" yelled Zimmer, shouldering his weapon, aiming down the sight. Half a dozen of them or so uncloaked several meters in front of them. As they did so, Zimmer's heart skipped a beat. "You have got... to be f**king shitting me..." said the sarge. His heart skipped yet another beat as a huge ass one with a damn axe uncloaked infront of them. "What are you waiting for... fire FIRE!" Yelled Lawson as the team opened fire. They were quick, lighting fast, running and swinging from rafters. One of them managed to lodge two into Private Wilson, and Zimmer caught a spear-like projectile in the shoulder. He screamed and fired in the direction it came from, on the rooftops somewhere. Another one hit Lissome in the leg. "We've got a sniper!" yelled Zimmer as the predators approached the now four man team. Lissome tried to run, but the nearest predator picked him up and benched him. Lawson managed to take it down before it could rip him in half, but another predator moved in and split his skull with his wrist knives. "Shit! The Sarge is down! Zimmer, you're in charge now!" said Lissome. Zimmer got on his tac com. "Second squad move in!" The five man back-up squad moved in, amongst them Hendrickson, a heavy gunner with an M60E4. "Open fire" Zimmer said as Hendrickson growled, "Eat this!" he opened fire with all the rest, until six predator bodies littered the alley. Krowe, the Corpseman, was the only casualty, suffering a head injury from the mysterious spear-like object that had pierced Zimmer's shoulder. The Sniper was still out there, prowling the rooftops. Zimmer counted the bodies, six, and from the looks of it, the Axeman was as well. Then, out of nowhere, the massive Axe wielding hunter appeared behind Hendrickson and impaled him with the sharp end of the weapon, throwing him aside like a ragdoll.
They opened fire, but were unable to kill the massive Yautja before it layed waste to four of their squad members. Zimmer, Lissome, and the remaining Private, Thompson, the comm tech, formed up. "Okay, as you know, we've still got a sniper up there to take down." said Zimmer. "Who knows how many more are out there? It could be like ten to one!" Zimmer grabbed Lissome by his collar. "I need you to focus devildog, we need to focus and take this thing out, we can beat 'em, hoo-rah." Thompson nodded. "Now move out, Thompson take point."
The trio moved down a side alley. Sure enough, they were shot at. Zimmer managed to avoid some near fatal shots to the leg as did the other two. Zimmer, still moving, fired up, along with the other two. He caught a glimpse of it on the rooftops but only hit the metal, the bullets ricocheting off. "Keep moving!" yelled Zimmer. They turned a corner, the beast was still shooting at them. Their bullets again missed their target, save Lissome's who actually hit, green blood seeping down to the ground. "Don't let it escape!" As they rounded another corner, Lissome spotted a ladder, and began to ascend, followed by Zimmer and Thompson. As they arrived at the top, they spotted four more of them. Two looked like generic ones, with the strange wrist augmented blades, and shoulder cannons, one of them was the sniper that had been stalking them, sleeker armor, with spikes in a row down the center of its bio helmet, and a hunter with thick armor, and a large cylinder shaped object attached to its back. Just then, a chopper appeared, and the gun opened fire, but then was taken out by one of the Sniper's what appeared to be a 'Shuriken', which returned to his grasp. That is when the two other predators opened fire on Zimmer's team, and the pilot came over his tac com. "Corporal Zimmer, we have identified the one with the package, it's a bomb, you need to take it out!" Zimmer noticed the 'W' on the helicopter. "Open fire!" yelled Zimmer, dodging the plasma projectiles fired by the two, and as the sniper proceeded to follow the bomb carrier.
Zimmer took out one, and Thompson took out the other with a few blasts from his Shotgun. The trio pursued the extra-terrestrial duo, with Lissome in the rear, his S12 out and ready. As they finally cornered the duo on the corner of a building. Zimmer ordered Lissome to take out the bomb carrier. He took out the Sniper instead, firing at his head, blasting his skull into peices. "Damnit! I mean the other one!" But before Lissome could open fire the Bomb Carrier threw a Shuriken like device as well, slicing Thompson in half. "Damnit! Open fire!" Lissome then scored a direct shot at the predator's torso, blasting him off the rooftop. This is when Zimmer, as he peered over the edge, noticed the cylindrical object light up on the predator's back. "Oh no..."
"GET TO THE CHOPPER!" yelled Zimmer, scrambling aboard, helping Lissome as well. "GO! NOW!" Yelled Zimmer to the pilot. The chopper sped off into the horizon, just barely escaping the blast, which in turn decimated the entire village.
"Sergeant Zimmer?" said the Pilot. "You and Lance Corporal Lissome are being re-assigned..." Zimmer held up a hand. "I'm a Corporal." he said. The Pilot shook his head. Not anymore, I got word you've been promoted, congratulations, Sarge. While the general was a little displeased the entire town got destroyed, it was abandoned anyway. So, you're being re-assigned near "Bear Ridge, Alaska" you should be there in several days, there's a quarantine issue going on, they say it may be linked to the previous incident." he continued. "Anyway, good luck..."
\Chapter 4
~~~~

Leader cursed as the screen went blank. An entire strike team of their warriors had been wiped out by inferior 'Ooman' numbers? Leader shook his head in disappointment. He ordered the lesser bloods to prep his gear. He decided to join the original three un bloods that were originally supposed to be hunting. They would link up with the eight military personnel positioned around the human town of 'Bear Ridge'. As the ship passed over the small town, he ordered the navigator to stop the ship, put it in hover. He saw the ship stop and activate its cloak. Hopefully this would prevent this ship from crashing, unlike the last one which possessed all of the hard meat seeds.

He approached the drop-pod, he hadn't been in one in several years. He nodded to the other three and they entered. As soon as Leader was strapped in, he felt his pod lurch away from the ship. Soon, the pod crashed into the ground.

~~~~
Ambrose continued on to the outpost. As he made his way around to the back he noticed the door to the storage garage slam shut. He waded through the snow to it, pulling the door open through the snow. As he stepped in, he turned around and closed the door behind him, pulling in some snow with him. He heard footsteps on the catwalk above. He called out, "Who's there!?" No reply. He ascended the steps to find Ashley curled up in the corner, a blanket pulled up over her. Ambrose relaxed, he had feared it was one of the creatures. "Hey Ash, god I thought you were dead." He crouched down next to her, pulling off his coat and wrapping it around her. "Are you okay?" he asked her. She shivered and simply whispered. "They were everywhere... they... they came like beasts from the blackness... with their tails and teeth and claws they grabbed them, everyone." Ambrose hesitated. This didn't sound like, anything like the thing he saw in the woods, it was roughly seven foot, humanoid, with blades coming out of its arms, they didn't have tails or teeth he was aware of. "Where is Nolan, Ash?" Ashley just kept murmuring mindlessly. Ambrose stood up and shook his head. "Don't do this Ash, we can make it." Ambrose had known her all his life, they were practically siblings. Ambrose knew what he had to do. He picked Ash up, putting her arm over his shoulder, he noticed she had a deep gash running down her left leg. "Don't worry Ash, I'm getting you outta here." he said. As they made their way down the steps, Ambrose heard the clicking again.
Ambrose remembered Nolan kept an M9 in the supply cabinet under the stairs. He set Ash down slowly, who continued murmuring, and slowly approached the cabinet, opening it slowly, ever so slowly, and almost as slowly as he had approached it, grabbed the gun and the clips, shoving them into his pockets, then, quickly, he turned around and fired in the direction of the sound, hitting nothing but air. He heard clanging on the upper level. He turned around, aiming up just in time to see the hunter jump down and hit him across the chest, sending him flying into a wall. The gun slid across the floor. Ambrose looked up just in time to see the Hunter draw his wrist blades and uncloak. His armor was black with glowing red lenses. Ambrose raised his arms and waited for death, but, to his horror, something larger, more terrifying had risen up behind the creature.
Ambrose watched in stunned silence as an eight foot monstrosity appeared behind the hunter, its large banana-shape head appearing first and a large tail after wards. The Hunter was facing the creature, also stunned it drew its wrist blades but was too slow, the monster grabbed the hunter by his neck and lifted him into the air, the Hunter kicked his legs but to no avail, the monster drove a long muscular tongue like appendage through the Hunter's head, green gore splatting on the wall behind them. Ash screamed and Ambrose grabbed Ash and ran out the door. He closed it behind him, but the massive beast smashed the door frame, sending the door flying off the hinges.
\Chapter 5
Ambrose scurried up atop the complex, pulling Ash up onto the roof. Her feet had been just inches away from the creature snapping at her feet. Suddenly, the creature leapt onto the roof in a single jump. It was there, towering over them. It hissed and roared, its faceless maw drooling heavily. With several heavy steps it approached them. Ambrose held Ash tightly. "Just... just go away." was all Ambrose said. As the creature reared back its tail, preparing to strike, it was tackled by one of the hunters. A larger one, atleast seven feet tall, with a rigid mask. The hunter grabbed the stunned alien by its tail and threw it down to the ground, where three other hunters uncloaked. Ambrose's beanie flew off as a helicopter flew by, circling back around and lowering. "Get in!" said an older man, a "W" on the side of the chopper. Ambrose climbed aboard and was greeted by six Marines, one of them 'Sgt. Zimmer' the Pilot introduced himself as Charles Bishop Weyland. Ambrose was stunned. "Wait... the Mr. Weyland? Founder of Weyland industries, holy shit it's a pleasure to meet you sir!" said Ambrose, shaking the man's hand. He motioned for the pilot to take off. The last image Ambrose got before they disappeared over the treetops was that of the four hunters fighting the monster.
~~~~

Leader took a solid tail thwack to the face, sent flying to the ground, holding his jaw. He watched as Celtic and Gill wrestled with the beast, however it was too strong, it threw the duo off of it and fled into the forest. Celtic looked at Leader, who smirked and ran off after the Chopper, motioning for his hunting party to follow. They did so. The Humans would lead them to the hive grounds, and even better yet, they would finally be able to claim the skull of the one called 'Weyland'.

Celtic had not realized that Greed had stolen his ornamental dagger for his own as he trekked along behind the trio, completely confident in his ability to succeed. When their Leader perished, he would be the new leader, and yet, Greed did not realize Gill's envy, which was so powerful that he just might kill Greed to get his place. Favored one of Leader, pfft, he did not deserve such honor as being the preferred one of the Master.

Leader's plan of attack was thought out, planned. They would wait for the humans to get butchered and then they would plant the bomb carried by Celtic, and evacuate. It wasn't a typical warhead, like the self-destruct bomb typically used in hunts, it was an anti-hard meat bomb, instantly vaporizing any living material, sapient or not, in a radius of roughly 3 miles. One had gone off during the fight with the Ooman soldiers in the desert location earlier that week. Leader planned to meet up with the second hunting party there, and together the two would strike joint effectively on two fronts. They may be outnumbered by an obviously stronger foe, so what if the hard meat were stronger, faster, and more resilient than a predator? They were smarter, more intelligent, they would win, Leader knew this. He hoped he was right.

~~~~
"So, where are we going Mr. Weyland?" asked Ambrose. Weyland simply retorted, "To find the single greatest discovery in human history." Ambrose was puzzled. Sergeant Zimmer leaned in to Ambrose. "I wouldn't trust him." he whispered. Ambrose leaned forward. "What's going on?" he asked. "We're going into the cave system that runs underneath these mountains, apparently, the whole mountain is hollow, Mr. Weyland says we're going cave diving." Ambrose shook his head. "Mr. Weyland, I have a friend back there, we have to turn around." said Ambrose, desperate. Weyland shook his head. "Your friend is already dead if you did not find him." he replied curtly. "Why are we going caving?" asked Ambrose. "There is tale of an ancient artifact buried deep within the mountain, I prefer to get to it before somebody else does, and I need all of you." he said. "You don't need me, I'm just a weather man." Ambrose replied dryly. "I have also heard you're a great writer." Hopeless, Ambrose turned back. Zimmer leaned back in. "He's lying, we're going on a suicide mission. He's trying to take us directly into the heart of it all." Ambrose knew something had to be done. "Mr. Weyland... I... I know what you're doing, I know what you want. And I'm telling you, you're making a terrible mistake." said Ambrose. He could see Weyland's eyes go distant. He knew what he was doing was wrong. He had to. "I'm sorry." was all he said. Ambrose knew it couldn't be done. No matter how hard he tried, he could never save them. It was already too late. The chopper landed, and the crew piled out, grabbing their gear.
\Chapter 6
Now here they were, staring death in the face. Ambrose looked down into the dark hole, one of the marines spitting down into it. The Pilot noticed Ash sitting on the edge of the seat of the chopper, a blank look on her face. "Um... sir is she going to be a problem?" asked the Pilot. "No, I won't." Ash replied shortly. Ash got out and joined Ambrose. "You shouldn't come." said Ambrose. "I'm not going to let you go down there alone." she said. Ambrose just shook his head. "I shouldn't be letting you do this." Weyland joined Ambrose. "Trust me, Ambrose, if you help me here, I will get you the biggest opportunity of your career, haven't you always aspired to be a writer?" asked Weyland. Ambrose turned to face him. "How do you know so much about me?" "Ambrose, It is best to let sleeping dogs lie. The nine of us, we're the only survivors, you know this, not only is this our escape, it is a chance of a lifetime." After the other seven descended Weyland positioned himself to drop down, Ambrose stopped him. "I know why you're going down there." Weyland was puzzled. "You, want to capture, one of those... things... alive." he said. Weyland stopped and approached Ambrose. "We can study them, make better soldiers, find their weaknesses, think of how much we can learn from them." Ambrose shook his head. "You're insane, you know that?" he replied with a fake smile. Weyland shook his head. "No, I'm a genius. And if you tell anyone, your part of this deal is forfeit." with that he repelled down into the darkness.
Ambrose repelled down and joined the others, who had lights, and had begun their trek. They came to a narrow vent that descended into the main cave system. "No coming back up that one." said Lissome. "Luckily we're trained to deal with survival situations." replied Zimmer. "I'll go first, I'm the smallest." said Lissome. He edged his way down into the hole, it seemed like he had been down there for hours, before he arrived out of the other end. Private First Class Peterson was next. On the way down, about halfway in, the caverns began to tremor. They stopped. "Peterson, get the hell outta there." said Zimmer eagerly. The next six did it with fluent progression. Until it was Keller's, the Pilot's turn. She was about three quarters of the way down when the hole collapsed on her left leg.
"Aaaaaaah!" she screamed as the thick boulders collided around her leg. "Oh my god, don't worry we're going to get you out of there, hold on!" Zimmer climbed up to the hole. "Okay, now I need you to wiggle your leg, and grab onto my arms." She did so. "Now you need to pull your leg free." "I can't! It hurts!" "Okay, I know it hurts, but if you do not get out of there, the rest is going to fall down on you, and you're going to die, you are going to die, you need to do this!" She nodded reluctantly. "Okay, now, on the count of three. One..., two..., three!" She wiggled her leg and out she came, falling down onto the cavern floor. The boulders came falling out, but more came in their place, blocking up the hole.
"Dammit, now what! Huh, Mr. Weyland!?" asked Ambrose frantically. "Yeah, now we're f**king stuck down here, thanks to you!" Zimmer retorted. Weyland held up his hands calmly. "Don't worry, I promise that by the end of this, you will not regret it. We'll be safe down here." "Not if we starve to death!" Zimmer said particularly. Ambrose had to say it, he had to, but Weyland gave him a glare, as if he knew what he was thinking. Ambrose knew that if they did get out of here, and he said something, his life would be over, finished... but then again... no, he had to keep his lips shut. What if he was right. Zimmer was about to speak up then, tell Ambrose to say it, but he didn't. "I think we should get moving. If they do find a way in, we need to be on the move, constantly. It'll keep our adrenaline flowing." said Ambrose. Zimmer dropped his arms, hopeless. He wanted to say something as well, but he couldn't, not with his career on the line, he would be courtmartialed if he said anything. He was sure of it. As they proceeded deeper into the cave, Ambrose saw a strange shape in the darkness, probably a stalactite. "Hey, Ambrose! This way!" Ambrose looked over his shoulder to see that they were going up into another cavern. When Ambrose looked back, his heart skipped a beat. The shape was gone.
~~~~

~~~~
"HOLY SHI...!" Pvt Johnson had almost fallen into a bottomless abyss, which seemed to fall forever, had Zimmer not caught him. Ambrose kicked a rock down into it, and he didn't even hear it hit the bottom. "Wow, that would have been a doozy." said Lissome. They got out their rock climbing equipment. "Somebody needs to place the hooks in." said Zimmer. "I'll do it, I'm the lightest." said Keller. "Your leg is broken." Weyland countered. Ashley sighed and interjected, "I'll do it." Ambrose's face fell. "No... no, here, I'll do it." said Ambrose. Ashley looked him in the face. "I can't be just a burden anymore, I'm tired of being a fifth wheel." she said. "All my life, you have done everything in my place, I can't... I can't do this anymore, so... goddammit, give me those." she said, taking the hooks from Lissome's hand. She got out the pick, and swung forward. Ambrose squinted his eyes as she did, but she did so successfully, she placed the second and third one, and then the fourth and fifth one. When she got to the end, she noticed a strange red, sharp instrument sticking out of the ceiling. It was brownish red in color with strange markings on it. "What the...?" she said. It was here that he pick slid out a little. She had barely enough time to jam her hand into a crevice before the pick slid out of its resting place and she dropped it, as it sailed into the abyss, never to be seen again.
"ASHLEY!" yelled Ambrose, who almost stepped out after her, before he was stopped by Zimmer. "I... I'm fine, just, gotta, swing over..." She swung over to the other side, dropped hard onto her back, holding her bloodied hand that she had apparently broken by jamming it up into the crevice. The others used the hooks to swing their way over with the ropes, and the last object, which Weyland yanked out as he was the last one to pass and shoved it into his rucksack. "Well, hopefully we won't have to do anymore of that!" said Weyland. Ambrose nodded. As they continued down into the cave, he turned to Ashley. "That was a brave thing you did." he said. "But, please, don't ever do anything like that again." Ash just smiled. "You underestimate me too much."
\Chapter 7
"Hey guys... I found something..." said one of the Privates, probably Peterson. Ambrose followed the voice to find it was Peterson. "What is it..." Ambrose cut himself off to see that Peterson was staring at a wall completely covered in artwork and designs, all of which were so alien to him. Some of the drawings or carvings depicted two alien races locked in battle, others were of the young hunters being marked, and still others were of hunters dying. And then Ambrose spotted one that shocked him. It showed several of the hunters fighting a massive creature with a large 'crown' of sorts with multiple limbs and surrounded by what appeared to be 'eggs'. "What do you think this is, Sarge?" Peterson asked Zimmer. "Some sort of cave painting." he replied, awestruck by it as well. Then Ambrose saw something that looked like a map. It depicted the cave with the layout similar to a sink, with a drain, main chamber, trap, and... an exit! "Hey hey hey... I think I found a way out." said Ambrose as they crowded around him. He pointed to it. "What do you think Wayland?" he asked, giddy, eager to escape. "I think you're on to something. Let's follow the main chambers, hopefully Mr. Connor is right, let's move."
As they continued through, Ambrose saw more of the moving stalactites. They continued and Ambrose got the chills running down his spine that something was with them the entire time, something, or somethings. Ambrose sided with the Sergeant. "Keep that weapon ready, we're not alone." Sarge told this to his Privates, and they nodded, gripping their weapons tighter. Alone the way, Ambrose got separated from the other eight, tripping backwards into a hole. "Ambrose!" Ambrose landed heavily square on his back. "Ow." He could make out eight little heads appearing around the hole. "I'm... I'm fine, really." "I found a way down." he heard Peterson rebuke. As they approached, Ambrose saw a shape out of the corner of his eye. Something was in the lake beside him. Then he saw tentacles, or appendages appear briefly brake the surface of the water. He saw this and quickly backed up into the wall. Ash ran to his side. "What... what was it, what did you see?" she asked. Ambrose couldn't spit out the words, he just pointed at the lake. Finally he spat it out, "Something... is... something is there..." Ash looked but she saw nothing. "Let's get going." she urged. Ambrose followed her but shook his head in nervousness. "Something is with us, I know it."
~~~~

The four hunters continued. Gill was on the verge of killing Greed. He wanted his position. It would be a simple matter to make it appear he was killed by one of the Keinde Amedha. Gill clicked his mandibles with pleasure, and tapped Greed on the shoulder. Gill motioned for Greed to follow him into a quiet portion of the cavern. Greed got the impression Gill wanted to show him something, he followed out of curiosity, neither Celtic nor Leader noticed the other two's absence, so they continued deeper into the caverns, searching for the small group of humans. The trap was set. As soon as Greed had his guard down, Gill leapt forward and disarmed him, then he repeatedly stabbed him in the stomach with his Arm Blades, gutting him. He then stomped thoroughly on his skull over and over again, until his feet were being cut on chunks of bone and his foot was green and slick with his brother's brains. It was done. He clicked with pride and re-joined the others.
Leader was interrupted by Gill, who tapped him on the shoulder. He showed him a Keinde Amedhe Skull, and then the necklace that Greed wore. Leader took it, and sighed. He was a good soldier.

~~~~
As they continued, Weyland stopped to put his 'W' necklace under his shirt and they continued onwards. "I feel a breeze." commented Lissome. Soon, Ambrose felt it too. "Good, they must have been getting close. As soon as they entered the new chamber, Keller screamed in pain. They whirled around about to open fire, but were too late. Keller was lifted into the air by an unseen enemy. Then, it revealed itself. The eight foot black monstrosity from the facility. It roared, tossing the now limp body of Keller off of its tail. As it approached, Sarge's team opened fire, but the bullets ricocheted harmlessly off of the beast's exoskeleton. It roared and approached. Ambrose back up against the wall as it came face to face with him. The creature was then pulled away from him, and lifted into the air by what seemed to be nothing at all, but then a creature uncloaked, and stood before them was one of the Hunters, one with two huge razors on its arms. It roared and kicked the creature off of its blades. The Alien flew through the wall and into another chamber.
~~~~

Gill pursued his prey, roaring like an animal. In the next room, the large hard meat stood up. Like the ruthless human god Sobek, the creature kept coming at him. It tackled him to the ground and scratched at his mask. Gill reared back and kicked it square in the gut. The creature fell back into the wall, and Gill took this opportunity to pull out his dagger. He brought it down at the creature's head, missed and slipped, hitting one of its spines instead, cutting off the tip. The alien roared and back handed him. Gill was sent flying through two thick slabs of solid rock. When he went through the final one, he was sent flailing into the depths of the lake below. The Alien jumped down after him. Gill felt like every bone in his body was broken.

He got up and cracked his neck, pulled off his helmet, revealing his bright orange eyes, and roared. Smiling maniacally. The creature was much stronger and faster than him, but he loved big game. Him and the creature collided, thrashing wildly. Then with one swift move, Gill ducked under the Alien's tail, and sliced it in half. The alien roared, not in pain, as they felt none, but in anger, then in anger, it ran at him. Gill dodged and leapt into the air, bringing his blades down on and through the alien's back. Slicing it into four different pieces. The acid had damaged his blades severely, so he shed them, and pulled out his acid proof dagger. Just as he was about to withdraw the creature's skull, he felt pain fire through his body, and looked down at his stomach to see the large tail spike of one of the Kiende Amedha protruding from it.

The Alien withdrew its tail and Gill fell to the ground with a screech. Lying on his back, he saw dozens, possibly hundreds of Aliens surrounding him. The one that had stabbed him had a different head, it was rigid, with spikes down the middle. This one was the alpha, their leader. It roared in triumph and the others screeched and squawked and bellowed behind it. Alpha then grabbed Gill and dragged him away, pulling him through the murky water by his arm. The others kicked him and struck him as he was being dragged. Why had they not killed him right then... but then... oh no... what was about to happen to him was the worst fate any sentient species could suffer. He was the newest host to be introduced to the hive...

\Chapter 8

~~~~
Ambrose exhaled when the horrible creature roars stopped. The beast was impenetrable to their weapons, what now? And there were more of them! Everybody was gone... they had scattered amongst themselves. Ambrose knew he was on his own.
~~~~

Weyland had seen the entire thing. They had dragged the hunter off to be impregnated. He had to find the Hunter. He hugged his pickaxe and followed the aliens closely. Then suddenly he felt a hand touch him. He whirled around, stabbing the imposter right in the gut... only to find red blood all over his pickaxe as he withdrew it... he looked down, to see Ashley, holding her stomach, spitting up blood. She fell backwards into the ground, pulling off his 'W' necklace as she fell. He was speechless. Then suddenly two more hunters uncloaked on the far end of the room. Weyland ran terrified.

~~~~
Ambrose traveled deeper into the cave, until he found the large lake where the two had fought. He climbed down and almost fell of the ledge the water ran off down into. That is when he saw it... Ash was lying on her back in a pool of her own blood, and infront of her... was one of the Hunters. He screamed as he saw it retreat into the darkness. Ambrose ran after it but it was gone. He fell to his knees beside Ash. She gurgled up more blood. Ambrose was in tears now. He couldn't stand to see her like this. She pushed a heavy rock in his direction. She wanted him to euthanize her. He had to. He couldn't stand to see her in so much pain. Her lifted the rock above his head. "I will avenge you." with that he brought the large stone down upon her head, crushing it. He screamed in anger, still holding the blood soaked rock. "When I find you... I am going to f**king kill you. You are going to f**king pay for what you have done to me..." said Ambrose through gritted teeth as he stood up. He was going to kill that damn monster, even if it meant the death of him. As he was about to leave, he noticed a strange necklace she was holding. It had an 'M' on it, the first letter of her last name. He hadn't ever seen her wearing it before, but he took it to remember her by, slipping it into his jacket pocket, and them moving on.
~~~~

~~~~
Ambrose scrambled through the caverns, fumbling around in the dark as he heard the creatures coming after him. He then saw Weyland and the Marines carrying what appeared to be some sort of metal 'coffin' or those 'cryo tubes' he saw in the movies, carrying it up a pile of bones, to what appeared to be a small beam of light. He rushed over to them. "Mr. Connor, where's Ash?" asked Weyland. Ambrose shook his head. "She was butchered by those damn creatures." Weyland laughed. "Which one?" Ambrose grabbed the man by his shirt collar. "You think this some sort of game? You sick f**k?" One of the Privates pointed his rifle at him. "Take your hands off of him!" he yelled. Ambrose let go of Weyland and the Marine lowered his weapon. Zimmer grimaced at him. "Private, you aim your weapon where I tell you to, is that understood?" Draco Peterson nodded and lowered his weapon. Ambrose nearly screamed when he saw what was in the metal cocoon. One of the Hunters, something attached to its face. "What are you bastards doing?" asked Ambrose. "Making the future. Come on, let's get the hell outta here." said Weyland. They continued dragging the predator up the pile to the outside.
~~~~

~~~~
The two remaining warriors were fighting for their lives against the oncoming waves of the Aliens. Celtic saw her... he saw the Queen. She was massive, sitting atop her producing brood, practically imprisoned by her children, secreted to the floor of the hive chamber to avoid her flailing too much and damage her babies. Celtic had a clear shot, he charged up his Cannon, but the leader stopped him. Celtic nodded. They had to defeat her the honorable way. The hard way. Celtic drew his blades by Leader stopped him once more, motioning to the numerous nooks and crannies in the walls. In them were the waves that Leader said there would be. Hundreds, all drooling, in protection of their hive mother. Leader clicked his mandibles and began talking in their native tongue, "The Oomans are preparing to attack! We must destroy the Kiende Amedha with the Bomb! Deploy it! We must destroy them before the Oomans do!" growled the Leader. Celtic nodded and unstrapped the bomb from his back. He tapped on the panels running down the center, and it began to whir. "Now, to flight!"
~~~~

~~~~
As they lugged the casket up the pile, they saw the two hunters run by. "That can't be good." said Peterson. Ambrose dropped the casket and struggled up the pile of bones after them. The others did so as well. Weyland got on his phone. "I need a chopper here ASAP, get a clamp to get the package!" Ambrose struggled and fought to get good footing, he climbed and struggled and pulled his way up the steep mountain of horror. The hunters were already there. He grabbed onto one of their foot for leverage but it kicked him square in the face, he did not let go, he did not give up. As soon as he was there, he grabbed and pulled at the earth, the dirt entering his mouth and nose, and eyes, and burning. Then, light. Finally, the light. Sunlight poured down onto his face. He pulled himself up onto the solid ground. Sure enough. There was a chopper there waiting for them. The long robotic arm pulled the casket out into the chopper. As soon as they were strapped in, the pilot took off. The ground fell down beneath them as they ascended rapidly. Then, just when Ambrose thought they were safe, the bomb went off...
~~~~

~~~~
The chopper was sent flying in circles. "Hang onto something!" yelled Zimmer. Ambrose had just moments to do so before the chopper flew into the ground, sending up a spray of dirt and soil. It went into his orifices yet again, this time harder and more extreme. He struggled to breath as his head was knocked around. He didn't know how he had survived the crash without dying or getting knocked unconscious. He climbed out to find the three Privates were dead, and the pilot, and ironically they had crashed almost directly behind the large weather outpost. Weyland was gone. He helped Lissome and Zimmer out. Zimmer had a sprain and a couple of cracked ribs, Lissome seemed fine. "I feel fine!" he gloated. "Just hang onto me." said Ambrose, who seemed to have a broken rib aswell. "We're getting outta here." However, to his horror. He saw several of the foul beasts arrive out of the fog. Seemingly lead by one of them with a ridged head, unlike the others' smooth ones. Another that stood out amongst them was one of a lighter skin tone, also standing about a head taller than all the rest. They were drooling, staring at them, the large one seemed to be looking at him in particular. They were like dogs, smiling, but not at the same time, and what's even more horrific, they had no eyes, he could not tell if they were LOOKING at him, or just smelling him. Ambrose backed away slowly. "When I say go, we're going to run to the facility..." The creatures edged closer, and closer still. Until the brown one sprinted towards them. "NOW! GO!" They ran as fast as they could. Lissome got there first and was about to close the door, when they got there, shutting just as the creature smashed against the door frame. "GET TO THE UPPER LEVEL!" Yelled Ambrose as they scurried up the steps. Just as they got up there and shut the door behind them, he heard the door smash inward on the lower level.
//Chapter 9
The Alpha Alien growled as it searched for its prey. Turning over containers and bursting into rooms. The brown one was really pushing his authority. So what if he was next in command, he would always be the favored one of the Queen, now that she was alive and well, and they had gotten her to safety, but the explosion had wiped out most of his brothers, now they were all that was left. He intended to find the large hosts and kill them, but not until these immediate threats were disposed of. Any threat to him was a threat to the Queen. Suddenly Alpha heard a loud crash. He turned around, bearing his teeth, arcing his tail, to see the the two large ones were here anyway. They had dug their own trap. Alpha hissed for his kin to attack.
~~~~

~~~~
Celtic simply blasted the creatures away with his cannon before they could get close enough, Leader did so as well. As soon as all of the others in the room were eliminated, Celtic focused on the large brown one, but was tackled by the Alpha. Leader did not see the strange hard meat exit as he grabbed the Alpha and tried to pull it off.
It was too strong. With a solid thwack of its tail it sent Leader flying into the wall. Celtic, having immense strength even for a Yautja, managed to free his arm and wrap his large hands around the Alien's throat. He then kicked it square in the chest, sending it stumbling back. He got up and bared his Wristblades, roaring. The Alien roared back, but was tackled by Leader. Celtic figured he should let Leader take care of it by himself, so he vanished up the stairs.
The Alpha Alien was stronger than Leader had anticipated, easily pinning him down the Alien bared its jaws and was about to head bite him, when Leader reversed his wristblades and stabbed the alien the arm. The Alien stumbled back off of him. Leader then leapt at the Alien, the Alien leapt at him, and they collided in mid-air. The Alien then countered his blow, headbutted him, and hit him with its tail. He was sent flying into a small room, where the cieling then caved in on him, nearly crushing him. The Alien approached, hissing in pride at its succesful defeat of the Leader... but thing were not as they seem, the debris began to stir.
Out of the debris, burst Leader, starting the battle off with a flourish as he fired the wristblades into the Alien's neck. It squeeled. Then, with two direct hits from his Cannon, blew the Alien into bits. Leader roared and ripped the Alien's head from its shoulders. He now looked around for the younger warrior, which had abandoned him like a coward.
~~~~

~~~~
Ambrose heard the hunter below roaring. He did not know how much more of this he could stand before he lost his mind. "Stay quiet, we're going to get out of this." Just then Ambrose heard the door open. They were inside a cubicle. Ambrose could see the Hunter's feet from underneath it. "Oh no... follow me." Ambrose got up and moved quietly, half crouched, out of the cubicle, and down the row into the next room, the others in tow. As they entered, Ambrose lead them down the back stairwell into the generator room. As Ambrose closed the door, he turned around to see the large grey alien standing there, drooling, its tail flicking back and forth with joy that it had found food...
Ambrose didn't move a muscle. Neither did Zimmer or Lissome. "What the hell...?" said Lissome through gritted teeth. Zimmer tried to turn his head whilst moving as little of his upper torso as possible. "Sht... p!" he said, moving his mouth as little as possible. Then the Alien leapt at them, leaving them little other choice than to dodge out of the way. The Alien smashed into the door, sending it flying into the other room. The trio ditched, running through the catwalks. He hoped the hunter would take care of it... but of course, as he looked back, there it was, growling, and snarling with ravenous hunger, and quiet possibly anger, if they felt any emotion. The stomped after him, its large feet making dents in the catwalk's grating. "Get back..." said Ambrose. The creature hissed, and then growled like a dog. "Go... now..." said Ambrose.
"What are you going to do?" asked Zimmer. "I'm staying... I'll distract it." he said. "You can't that's suicide." Zimmer replied, shaking his head. Ambrose just sighed. "I have nothing left to live for anyway..." he said with a smile and a tear, remembering Ashley. He turned his head. "GO!" They left, sure enough. He turned back to the beast that was now face to face with him, towering easily two feet above him. He smiled and stepped out of the catwalk and into the door frame, backing up, just inside. As the creature entered he back up some more. He read the sign on the back of the door 'Tow'. He backed up behind the chains, dangling from the ceiling. "Come on!" he screamed.
The creature almost seemed to hesitate. Then just before it was about to leap, it came closer, then, his hand slid over the red lever reading 'Drop'. Then, it was flawless. "Say hi to your little brothers and sisters for me, would ya?" he yanked on the lever, and the machine dropped down atop the monster, easily fifty tons or more of force. The machine dropped right onto the alien, squashing it flat. Ambrose hadn't really thought out the plan. He just had hoped for the best. He slid down the wall he had his back against, and sighed. He looked over to the door to back engineering to see Lissome and Zimmer peering out, and smiled. "I got the f**ker!" he said... but it was too soon. He felt the cold grip of of the beast wrap around his leg and yank him towards it's jaws. It was still alive? How!?
\Chapter 10
The Alien was torn in half by the machine. Ambrose managed to kick it off, but it continued to crawl after him on its hands and elbows. Zimmer didn't know what to do. He opened fire on it, the bullets merely ricocheting off. Then, it happened, one of his bullets got lucky and hit a spot directly in the center of the beast's head. Then, it's head exploded in a flurry of acidly ribbons. Some of it got on Ambrose's jacket, and he hurriedly yanked it off. He stood up at Zimmer's side. "Thanks, Sarge. Okay, we should really get going..." said Ambrose eagerly as they exited the complex. Sure enough, as soon as he said this, something else began to happen. The ground began to tremble and shake. Ambrose and the other two were thrown to the ground as it cracked open and a large black shape appeared out of the ground, but he couldn't make it out through the thick downpour. Then, his fears became realized. The massive picture depicting hunters fighting a large creature, the eggs, the creatures, they all had to come from somewhere... this was... their mother... their Queen.
~~~~

~~~~
Ambrose spotted the truck and made a run for it, beckoning for the others to follow. They were almost there, when they were thrown aside like toys. The Queen roared, approaching them, and with each step, shaking the ground, cracking it. Ambrose scrambled to his feet, narrowly avoiding her next blow, which also sent cracks crawling through the snow covered ground. Ambrose managed to scramble into the truck, Zimmer and Lissome hopping into the back. As Ambrose floored it he realized she was following it. He put it into the highest gear and was still barely staying ahead of the pursuing monstrosity.
Zimmer and Lissome opened fire, their rounds were not affecting her in any way, yet she roared in anger, speeding up. She seemed to be momentarily stunned when she hit a power line, it sending volts of electricity throughout her body. She managed to break free and continue her pursuit... however, to Ambrose's dismay, a large ice shelf had tore through the road, possibly caused by the explosion, and he slammed on the breaks, the truck careening into it. Ambrose was thrown through the windshield, and it appeared Lissome was knocked out cold. Zimmer hopped out, firing at the approaching beast. He threw down his rifle once it ran out of ammo and pulled out his pistol, firing at it as he ran up onto the shelf, slipping a couple of times, to help Ambrose up. As he did so, he got out his communications relay. Then, out of the forest, leapt the hunters, both of them flying through the air, and landing on the Queen's back, repeatedly stabbing her, whilst getting tossed around, they continued to hang on. Zimmer jammed the relay into the ground and Ambrose helped him set up the headsets. "You getting anything?" asked Ambrose. Zimmer shook his head and continued to set it up, moving the antenna around to get a signal. Ambrose tried to ignore the ensuing fight that was going on just mere feet from where they were.
~~~~

~~~~
The black death flailed horrendously, roaring and screeching as they drove their weapons into her hide, getting them soaked in acid, soon, the Queen was sent flying by her own weight down into the forest floor below. Leader was almost crushed by her aswell. Celtic got up and shook himself off, just in time to see Leader get hit by her tail, sending him flying into the barrens below. Celtic screamed in anger at the defeat of his brethren. The Queen roared in triumph... but then... the entire mountain began shake, almost as if it had been angered.
~~~~

~~~~
Ambrose fell to his belly as the ice shelf broke off beneath them. Ambrose saw the Queen roar just as the entire cliff-side fell off of the mountain itself. She uttered a high pitched squeal as a huge chunk of solid rock and ice smashed into her, crushing her and the hunter was lost in the bright white mist. It had been blind luck that the very shelf they had been sitting on hadn't gone with it. "I've got a signal..." said Zimmer cheerfully. Ambrose sighed, still on his belly. "Get us some evac... I need a vacation." Zimmer asked for evac and stood up. "It is done." Ambrose got up after him and sighed. "Thank you, you're a good friend." he said. Zimmer smiled, and then, just like that, he was lifted into the air, the Wristblades of the large hunter peircing him like butter. He screamed. "NO!" yelled Ambrose, picking up his pistol and firing at it. The bullets did nothing to the armor of it's helmet, and it threw him aside. Ambrose did however manage to knock the machete-like weapon out of its left hand, which slid across the ice. Ambrose dove for it, picking it up, smiling wildly.
~~~~

~~~~
He then charged at the hunter, which moved out of the way, slashing at him. Ambrose ducked underneath the blows, slicing it across the belly, green gore spilling out onto the ice. He then rammed the blade up through the creature's jaw, up through the top of it's helmet." he smelled the stench of the creature's blood, steaming on the ice. He then withdrew his blade, and kicked the hunter down off of the cliff, spitting as he went down.
Ambrose joined Zimmer's side. He was still alive, just passed out from blood loss. Ambrose took off the final layer of his clothing besides the shirt on his back and wrapped it thoroughly around the wound. "You're gonna be okay, buddy, everything is going to be just fine..." Then... Ambrose got that feeling again... somebody was there... again. He looked up, and sure enough, there stood the Lead hunter, mask less, it becoming apparent it had only one eye. It growled, pulling out it's cannon. It held it at arm's length, aiming right at his head. Ambrose cautiously stood up, holding up his hands. Then, it closed its mandibles, and handed it to him.
Ambrose was puzzled intently. He stepped in a semi-circle around the beast. It's eyes followed him. "Take it!" it said in human tongue. Ambrose stepped forward and accepted the trophy. The predator nodded, and Ambrose looked at the ground, furrowing his brow. "You killed everything I know." he said. Then, with one swift move, he jammed the sword into the predator's throat. "Now, it is your turn to die!" he then withdrew the blade, throwing it and the trophy off of the cliff. "May you rest in peace, Ash." he said with a tear.
