DISSOLVE TO:

EXT.   HIGH EARTH ORBIT.  

ANGLED SHOT as U.S.M. Aonasus slowly PASSES below in Earths orbit.  HUGE weapon emplacements, radar beacons and the Bridge visible in more detail.

CUT TO:

INT.   AONASUS.   CORRIDOR.

REVERSE TRACKING SHOT ahead of General Rykard, passing through corridors with clean white walls, nothing like those of her ill-fated sister ship Auriga...more like those of the Nostromo. (Alien) Commander Dacks comes into frame from another corridor, they continue walking together!

RYKARD

Whatís the situation Commander?

DACKS

Itís bad sir, the Escuda is still hailing us.  Their Captain is
demanding we hand over the robots, immediately!  Heís insisting
theyíre Government property now.

RYKARD
Government property my ass...they got what they came for!

DACKS
Well thatís the problem sir.  Seems the recorder was damaged in
transit and they canít access it.  Theyíre saying itís sabotage
and theyíll shoot us down if they have to.  The White House has
been informed...but they wonít interfere unless itís a security
situation.

RYKARD
Any word from our Government friends?

DACKS
Not yet!  They arenít answering our hails either.

RYKARD

Alright forget about the Feds, tell me more about our Ďguestí?

DACKS
We believe she was one of the Runners.  Unfortunately, we canít
access Government files on the Recall to confirm it...but I can
confirm sheís definitely not one of ours.

RYKARD
I kinda figured that one out for myself son...what I wanna know
is, is she a terrorist?

DACKS
Thatís doubtful sir, according to the guys at the base they ran
a trace through the I.C.S.  Whatever she was looking for it was
on the wreck.  They found security breaches all over the place,
data, systems, logs even the Network-!

Rykard abruptly turns to face Dacks.

RYKARD
Just tell me one thing Commander, is there any possibility even
a remote one, she couldíve seen whatís going on here?

DACKS
Negative sir, all the Autons where confined to the compounds!

They continue walking.

RYKARD

What about those people Perez hired...them smugglers?

DACKS
General Perez only gave us 2 profiles on them, their pilot and
some cripple in a chair.  Last transmission we got from Auriga
was crazy, the aliens had already gotten out!  We assume Perez
followed orders...he did say ďtheyíd been taken care ofĒ ...we
just donít know.  

RYKARD

Ok so...she assumes the identity of another Unit, downloads the
recorder data...then there was an ion surge, which she couldnít
have accounted for?

DACKS
Yes sir!  Weíve already questioned Vaughan...everything he said
complies with what we know.  They had no choice at the time, it
was a mission option which is true.  Question is whether we can
extract the information from her?

RYKARD

I still say sheís one of Perezís dicks!!  We gotta find out for
sure before the Feds!

DACKS
Yeah I know.  Anyway, the I.C.S. traced her movements back to 3
days ago...right to where she jumped Number 5.  That reminds me
they found her too, just after we left the base.

Rykard turns to face Dacks again.

RYKARD

You mean they knew something was going down here?  Why the Hell
didnít they tell us so?

DACKS

Commi said they couldnít risk it...damn Feds crawling all over
the place!!  Anyhow, apart from her face being ripped off, the
unit was unharmed just incapacitated, they found her in one of
the garbage chutes all tide up.

Rykard begins walking again, more quickly ahead of Dacks.

RYKARD
Great!  So how the Hell did our guest get past security, I mean
they tagged Ďem all before we docked?

DACKS
Basically, she got lucky.  You recall a guy named Cooper from A
Squad...use to run the Patrols on Gateway a few years back?

RYKARD

Yímean ďKangaroo CooperĒ, how could I forget?  The only Service
guy whose resume reads like a bag of shit!  What about him?

DACKS
Well, from what Commi said, the Duty Officer changed the roster
last week, so a couple of their guys could go out and party, or
something I dunno.  Anyhow on the night in question, one of the
duty guys got sick...and guess who was laid on stand-by to call
the ball?

RYKARD

You gotta be kiddiní, ďKangaroo CooperĒ...you could get a whole
army of terrorists past that guy before he even blinked.

DACKS
Makes you wonder just how many partygoers there really was that
night, doesnít it?

RYKARD
Weíll find out soon enough, when their goddam heads are rolling
outta the Admiralís office in a couple of months.  But Iíll say
this much, it wonít be ours Commander.

DACKS
I hope youíre right sir.

They stop at a large door, Rykard enters in a code, the door HISSES open and they enter.

INT.   OBSERVATION ROOM. (CONT.)

WIDE ANGLED SHOT of a large window over a balcony on which stands an old man in a white coat.  We DOLLY behind Rykard and Dacks as they approach him in the dark room, the glass in front protection from any infectious diseases.

INT.   MEDICAL ROOM.

DROP SHOT inside the Medical Room, the floor and walls all white.  On an operating table lies ANNALEE CALL half naked, her chest HELD wide open by HOLDING CLAMPS.  Various wires sprout
from her insides, connected to machines all around her.  Also present are 5 medics all wearing protective clothing.  One of them is the Chief Medic who continues probing Calls insides.

CHIEF MEDIC
What time do we have?

ASSISTANT MEDIC
18:15.

CHIEF MEDIC

Ok people...Iím calling it, lets get her sewed up and back into
storage. (into recorder) Time of death 6:15pm.  Elapsed time is
5 hours 21 minutes, cause of death...neural failure in-!


The Chief Medic stops on hearing a knock at a window, looks up to the balcony.

CLOSE UP as the Chief Medic removes her mask.  The 30 year old woman stares up at Rykard, makes a Ďcut throatí sign and shrugs her shoulders.

INT.   OBSERVATION ROOM.

CLOSE UP on Dacks looking down into the Medical Room.

DACKS

Jesus Christ...I think weíre in trouble.

Rykard seems unconcerned, turning his attention to the old man.  His hair and beard are long and gray, his face wrinkled and he wears curiously unfashionable spectacles

RYKARD
Professor Goldstein, I didnít expect to find you here?

PROFESSOR GOLDSTEIN
While I can no longer pursue my work as I would like, I felt it
was high time I took an interest in our presence here.  However
I hope youíll forgive me if I say, ďthe sooner weíre outta here
the betterĒ?

RYKARD
I apologize for this inconvenience Professor, but Iím afraid we
wonít be leaving for anywhere just yet.

PROFESSOR GOLDSTEIN
They have their Flight Recorder do they not...technically?

RYKARD
There have been other developments, so the Admiral has given me
strict orders to remain in orbit for the time being.

ANGLED SHOT into the Medical Room.  We see Call being carefully placed inside a body bag.

GOLDSTEIN (O.S.)
Her name was Annalee Call.  She was I believe a Runner and whom
the Government have been trying to apprehend for years, because
of what she may, contain!  Non of this is of any consequence to
you of course...what should be however is where she has been...
even more so, where she has come from.

DACKS
How do you know all this?

RYKARD (to Goldstein)

Our ĎMysterious Benefactorí at the Research Centre no doubt.  I
hope Iíll get the chance to meet him some day, seems him and me
have a lot in common?

GOLDSTEIN
I trust you will eventually.  However his distrust is firmly in
the people who you work for.  You must understand, all this you
have before you must not fall into their hands, he would rather
see it destroyed than let that happen.  Without her, the United
Systems Military would be Ďwithout challengeí would it not?

RYKARD

Your damn right about that.  Thatís why Phase 2 was created.

DACKS (O.S.)
What else does he say about Call?

GOLDSTEIN
He has made her acquaintance before...a long long time ago now.
After escaping incarceration he fled for the planet Arnaan, she
too was on the run, and it was there they met.  She knows about
the Aliens, he told her...over a beer or two.  And then he made
his greatest error...not because of any fear of the creature...
but because of his Ďloathingí for the United Systems Military.

DACKS
So why should we trust him?

GOLDSTEIN
For the very reasons you are here.  You and I and everyone else
on board this vessel are, as you say ďup to your necks in it!Ē

RYKARD

Wait a second...youíre telling us sheís a survivor?

Goldstein nods his head once.

RYKARD (CONT.)

Well now, that is interesting.

GOLDSTEIN

Indeed?  

Thereís a short pause.
                         
RYKARD

Seems our Number 8 has also showed up, on one of the Islands.

DACKS (O.S.)
Ripley 8 is alive?

GOLDSTEIN
How do you suggest we proceed with this new development?

RYKARD
My Ďordersí are to remain in orbit, to keep an eye on things as
it were...until Command arrives.

There is an uneasy pause.

GOLDSTEIN

I trust you are aware if they should get to our Number 8 first,
it will only be a matter of time before we are discovered?

Rykard PRESSES a switch on the wall opening a channel to the Medic Room.

RYKARD (to INTERCOM)
Doctor, is that it, I mean are you finished?  And what the Hell
is he doing here?

SHOT OF Vaughan stood behind the Chief Medic just removing his mask.

CHIEF MEDIC

Vaughan is always my assistant in these matters, you know that!
And yes itís over.  My report will be on your desk, first thing
in the morning. (sighs) Never seen anything like it...sheís one
Helluva mess inside...I doubt anything couldíve survived-!

RYKARD

Alright I get the picture, I want her compacted and ready to go
in the Air Lock at 2100 hours.

GOLDSTEIN

I cannot believe you are just going to terminate her, thereís a
great deal we could learn-!

RYKARD

Let me tell you something Professor, something my Father always
said, come to think of it so did his, and my Great Grand Father
too.  He said ďThe day a robot learns to think for itself would
be the end of us all...period!Ē  This conversation is over, now
you tell me something?

GOLDSTEIN
Of course.

RYKARD

Just how are these little Ďexperimentsí of yours coming along?  

CLOSE UP of Professor Goldstein, his eyebrows LIFT suspiciously back at Rykard.  

CUT TO:

INT.   TERRAN CONVENT.   DORMITORY. (2 HOURS LATER)

WIDE ANGLED SHOT on Ripley asleep in her bed, the others all empty, about 20 inside the dimly lit room.  MOVING to DROP SHOT, CONTINUING to EXTREME CLOSE UP, her eyes still closed as she continues to dream.

FADE TO BLACK:

FADE IN:

EXT.   FUTURE EARTH. (NEAR-TOTAL DARKNESS)  

(DREAM SEQUENCE)

EXTREME CLOSE UP (CONT.) on Ripley.  Now DOLLYING AWAY.

Ripley lays under the moonlight, the ground made of uneven shapes.  Slowly she wakes feeling
around her, then we VIEW what sheís laid upon...BODIES.  CONTINUING to DOLLY AWAY we see not just a few bodies, not even a hundred, ...but THOUSANDS of CHEST-BURSTERED bodies, forming a GIGANTIC MOUND seemingly in the middle of nowhere.

Ripley rises, looking down one side of the mound.  

Below on a small plateau a dozen children play, holding hands, singing and chanting while dancing around a tall fire.  Far behind them is the ruins of a huge city.

CLOSE UP of Ripley from behind.  A breath of wind disturbs her hair, she turns TOWARDS US.

From the other side SLOWLY RISING, we see a HUGE OVAL SHAPE coming into frame.  Itís like an Alien Egg, dark green in colour, organic looking, standing over 400 FEET TALL.  

ANGLED SHOT as the EGG begins opening, the sides PEELING DOWNWARD down until they almost touch the surface.  

Ripley turns towards the children.

RIPLEY

HEY...HEY, OVER HERE...HERE!!

Tiny insect-like shapes begin POURING out from inside the Egg...THE ALIENS.  

CLOSE UP on Ripley, SCREAMING and WAVING FRANTICALLY to get the childrenís attention.

RIPLEY

RRRUUUNNN!!   RRRUUUNNN!!

ANGLED SHOT of the Aliens on the ground, THOUSANDS of them turn in unison TOWARDS US.

The children continue playing, oblivious to Ripleyís warning...and her!

Ripley begins to make her way down the mound, trying to keep her feet as she clambers down over the dead bodies!  She suddenly slips, ROLLING over the bodies almost to the bottom.

WIDE ANGLED SHOT down the mound, the Aliens begin climbing up to the top.

We DOLLY behind Ripley as she runs amongst the children...suddenly they DISAPPEAR.

SHOT OF Aliens advancing OVER the top of the mound down towards Ripley.

EXTREME CLOSE UP as Ripley turns towards them, she closes her eyes.

RIPLEY

No!!  This is not real!!  This is not real!!

EXTREME CLOSE UP (CONT.) Ripley opens her eyes.

RIPLEYíS P.O.V. just as an Alien LUNGES at her then...!

(DREAM SEQUENCE ENDS)

SMASH CUT TO:

INT.   CONVENT.   DORMITORY.

CLOSE UP as Ripley quickly RISES from the sheets.

RIPLEY

Nooo!!

CLOSE UP (CONT.) as she takes a deep breath and eventually composes herself.  Light comes from an open door to the Bathroom in the B.G.

Ripley gets up and cautiously approaches.

INT.  BATHROOM. (CONT.)

We TRACK behind Ripley as she walks into the Bathroom.  Inside Lauren is alone in her night gown, stood against a mirror, brushing her long dark hair.

RIPLEY
Hi, howís it going...?

Lauren doesnít answer.

RIPLEY (CONT.)
...well I guess you couldnít sleep either Huh?

ANGLED SHOT as Ripley TOUCHES Laurens shoulder.  She JUMPS with fright, takes out something from her gown and attaches it to her LEFT EAR!!

RIPLEY

Oh Jesus--I mean my God--Iím sorry, I didnít know!

LAUREN

Itís alright...really...donít worry about it.  No one does.

RIPLEY

No one knows...that youíre Ďdeafí??

LAUREN
Itís a Cochlea Implant.  A little dated now, the Simmons & Dean
Replaceable.  I wouldnít be without it but when I am I lip read,
and I do sign language too.

RIPLEY

Well, yíknow what they say...if itís fashionable wear it.

LAUREN
I did come over to see you, but you were sleeping.

RIPLEY

Yeah, I do that a lot.

They smile at each other then exit the bathroom.

CUT TO:

INT.   CONVENT.   DORMITORY. (LATER)

Ripley is sat beside Lauren now on her bed, as she continues brushing her hair.

LAUREN

Anyway, I believe you owe me an explanation?

RIPLEY
Oh really...what kind?

LAUREN

A small matter to do with er...Monkey Business?

RIPLEY

Oh, that explanation!  I dunno where to start?

LAUREN

Well, why donít you start at the beginning?

We PAN around them VERY SLOWLY, Ripley pausing to think a little.

RIPLEY
Well, I guess I should at least be honest with about one thing.
Iím not exactly here for the most noble of reasons.

LAUREN
But youíre not a spy, I can see that...so...I guess you must be
running from someone?

RIPLEY

The very people who own this place.  Sounds stupid I know...the
theory is you hide right under their noses because thatís where
they least expect you to be.  I wasnít planning on coming here,
it just happened that way.

LAUREN

Do you regret it now?

RIPLEY
Definitely not!!  I couldnít have met such nicer people.  To me
your being here seems all wrong.  Not what you do, just the way
you seem stuck here, doing the Armyís dirty work.

LAUREN

Thatís so strange.  I mean I donít wanna tempt fate or anything,
but I wonder why they havenít come for you?

RIPLEY
I really donít know!

LAUREN

Arenít you allowed to tell why they want you??  You didnít kill
someone did you??

RIPLEY

No I didnít, but they tried to take a part of me that would.

LAUREN
I donít understand?

RIPLEY

I had something inside of me...kinda like a virus...but you can
touch it, it makes me feel strong and do fantastic things.  The
army wanted this virus to experiment on, but then I escaped.

LAUREN

This Ďvirusí...can it hurt me?

RIPLEY
Not anymore, I killed it, thatís the reason they want me.

LAUREN

Oh I see...I mean I think so!

Thereís a short pause as we CONTINUE to PAN ROUND the other way.

RIPLEY
What about you...how long have you been here?

LAUREN
12 years now.  Itís our 20th anniversary did you know?

RIPLEY

So I heard.  So, are you allowed to tell me anything?

LAUREN

Iím an orphan actually, I use to live near the city, I was only
9 when they...found me!

RIPLEY

Look, if you donít wanna talk about it thatís ok?

ANGLED SHOT on Lauren, slowly ZOOMING IN as she speaks.

LAUREN
We used to live on a farm, my Mother, Father little brother and
me out in the Mid West.  It was kinda tough...still is I guess.
My Father worked his heart out just for us to have some kind of
decent living. (pauses) Anyway one night there was a really bad
storm, never seen anything like it, and the generator seized up
so Dad went out to fix it.  

RIPLEY

What happened to him?

LAUREN
Nothing at first.  While he was away fixing things these people
came to the house, said they were travellers who got lost, they
seemed so nice...so friendly...!

We see a tear roll down one side of Laurens face!

LAUREN (CONT.)

...next thing I remember one of them is on top of Mom.  She was
screaming reaching for me but I couldnít do anything.  Then the
other one grabbed me, put me outside and locked the door.  So I
ran as fast as I could to get Dad but he was already on his way
home.  I heard gun shots coming from the house so went back.  I
found them just lying there in the kitchen.

RIPLEY

Iím sorry.  What happened to your little brother?

LAUREN
They were playing games with him in the living room...to him it
was a game there was nothing wrong, he just loved to play.  

RIPLEY

What did you do?

LAUREN

The only thing I could.  First chance I got I grabbed Billy and
we ran like hell to the barn. (pauses) And then I remember just
sitting there with him.  Mustíve been a while because the storm
came and went...and it was morning.

RIPLEY
And those bad people...you never saw them again?

Thereís a short pause.

LAUREN

I killed them...!

RIPLEY

What did you say?

Slowly ZOOMING IN on Lauren again.

LAUREN

I grabbed dads gun and I shot them, it was Billy who ran to the
barn!!  One of them still came after me, I ran to the generator
to hide but he caught me, he was going to kill me.  But somehow
I managed to get off a shot, the generator went sky high taking
him with it and...!

RIPLEY

And thatís how you lost your hearing...am I right?

LAUREN
Yeah!!  Anyhow it turned out those people were on the run.  The
Law was on their trail the whole time, I spent some time in the
hospital after that...then Mother just arrived for me, and here
Iíve been ever since.

Thereís another short pause.  Lauren composes herself, suddenly seems more cheerful.

LAUREN

Say, would you like to see something really special?

RIPLEY
Another of Terran Islandís surprises no doubt?

LAUREN

Maybe...!

RIPLEY

Alright!  But first I need to ask you something, itís kind of a
favor but really important?

LAUREN
Ok, shoot!

RIPLEY
I need to see something, at Ferina Hill Cemetery, itís a little
personal you could say?

LAUREN
Oh I see.  Well, I guess thatís ok, I can sorta borrow the keys
tomorrow morning-!

RIPLEY

Actually, I was kinda thinking a little more urgently.

LAUREN
You mean like right now?

RIPLEY
Now would be most helpful believe me.  Is it ok?

LAUREN

Oh I get it, youíve got special powers, we donít need keys.

RIPLEY

Shhh, donít tell anyone...itíll be our secret ok?

LAUREN

Hmmm ok hereís the deal.  We see my surprise first, and then we
go do your stuff...ok?

RIPLEY
Ok, itís a deal!

They spit in their right hand, slap them together, the deal is complete!  We PULL BACK slowly as they change into warmer clothing.

CUT TO:

EXT.   HIGH EARTH ORBIT.

ANGLED SHOT as AONASUS comes towards us, passing OVER-HEAD, silhouetted by the Sun rising in the B.G.

INT.   AONASUS.   CORRIDOR/MEDICAL ROOM. (30 MINUTES LATER)

WIDE ANGLED SHOT outside the Medical Room, we DOLLY towards 2 soldiers guarding the room.  A surgeon dressed in white approaches and the guards let him pass.  We CONTINUE behind as he enters and approaches a small Cryogenic Capsule laid on a track.

SHOT OF the surgeon removing his mask...itís VAUGHAN!  

He PRESSES a button on the side of the Capsule and it opens.

CLOSE UP of Call lying motionless inside.                  

VAUGHAN (O.S.)

What are you doing here Annalee Call?  

Vaughan walks over to a console and begins flicking nearby switches.

The Capsule HUMS to life and begins slowly moving towards a narrow chute.

SHOT OF Vaughan looking back nervously.

VAUGHANíS P.O.V. the guards outside the sound-proof room not watching him at all.

CLOSE UP as he sets a Timer Display to 30 SECONDS then PUNCHES ĎGOí on the console.

He then climbs into the STILL MOVING Capsule with Call and closes it.

Part of the capsule disappears into the chute then STOPS.

CLOSE UP of the Countdown Timer...6,5,4,3,2,1.  

A LOUD HISSING noise SUCKS the CAPSULE through the chute, the Airlock on the other side (O.S.)opens automatically, catapulting it into space.

The Guards outside remain oblivious to what happened.

CUT TO:

EXT.   SPACE.

PANNING RIGHT with the Cryogenic Capsule as it heads out towards deep space.

CUT TO:

INT.   TERRAN CONVENT.   CORRIDOR.

Ripley and Lauren, back in their garbs without the headdress, make their way down another of the Convents dimly lit corridors.

RIPLEY

How come Iím wishing I never let you talk me into this?

LAUREN

Relax no one ever comes down here.  Well, except those who know
already of course, but thatís irrelevant.

RIPLEY
Oh, is that right?

LAUREN (to Herself)
Ok lets see if I can do this.

Lauren walks over to one side of the corridor, begins PRESSING AGAINST the wall near the top and bottom simultaneously.

RIPLEY (O.S.)

You mean youíve never done this--whatever it is--before??

LAUREN
Not on my own no...just step back a little.

Lauren continues pressing a certain area of the wall then...!

ANGLED SHOT as part of the corridor flooring starts to SINK downwards with a HUMMING sound, which STOPS when the floor disappears completely, revealing a SECRET ENTRANCE.  

LAUREN

Ok weíre hot...this way címon!

RIPLEY

Wait a second, (grabs Lauren) how are we supposed to get back?

LAUREN
No problem, thereís a switch on the other side.

Lauren produces a torch and makes her way down a step ladder, Ripley nervously following on.  When they are out of sight the floor LIFTS back up, sealing them inside.

DISSOLVE TO:

EXT.   LOW EARTH ORBIT.  

ANGLED SHOT as a long TORPEDO-LIKE object approaches.  We PAN LEFT with a shiny PROJECTILE as it passes, fading out of sight!

CUT TO:

EXT.   EARTHS ATMOSPHERE.

TRACKING SHOT as it enters Earths atmosphere, beginning to BURN UP, its outer shell PEELS away in the intense heat.

CUT TO:

EXT.   EARTH.   30,000 FEET.

PANNING DOWN as the Projectile BURSTS through the HEAVY cloud cover.  3 parachutes emerge to slow its descent.  For a few seconds they hold, then the chutes break free.

CUT TO:

EXT.   TERRAN ISLAND.   THE GREAT LAKE/THE DAM.   NIGHT. (CLOUDY)

WIDE ANGLED SHOT over Terran Islandís Great Lake.  Stretching nearly a mile across, The Great Lake is enclosed within the distinct ďCĒ shape of the Island, sealed off from the ocean by a large DAM.  We DOLLY UP towards the centre of the Dam to a LOOK-OUT TOWER.  

EXT.   THE DAM TOWER. (CONT.)

2 nuns stand chatting on the Dam walkway near the Tower.  Suddenly the Torpedo-like object SPLASHES DOWN in the Lake behind them.

One of the nuns quickly runs inside the tower and PULLS a lever setting off a loud KLAXON.

CUT TO:

INT.   TERRAN SECRET ENTRANCE.   STAIRWELL. (VOICE ECHO)

Ripley and Lauren continue down the dark spiraling stairwell from the Secret Entrance.  In the B.G. we hear a KLAXON going off.  They STOP!

RIPLEY
I hope that doesnít mean weíre in trouble?

LAUREN
Itís the Tower...weíve got a visitor...your friends perhaps?

RIPLEY
If it is them they can wait, we have a deal remember?

They continue down the stairwell into the darkness.

DISSOLVE TO:

EXT.   SPACE. (LATER)

ANGLED SHOT of a Cryogenic Capsule drifting slowly through space, Earth far away in the B.G.

CLOSE UP on Capsule.  A rusted steel CLAW drops onto frame, GRABS hold and gently LIFTS the Capsule out of frame.

CUT TO:

INT.   BETTY COCKPIT.

Vriess sits in the right pilots seat, a 6 foot tall, tough-looking, 40-ish black female in a black leather flight suite takes the other.  Co-Pilot Sirtis flicks some switches above and attaches a headset.

SIRTIS (into headset)
Címon you goofs, we got the damn ball or not...Johner?

JOHNER (V.O.)

No sweat!  Vriess baby, letís get the fuck outta here.

INT.   BETTY CARGO HOLD.

TRACKING SHOT behind 3 members of the Betty crew, carrying the Capsule between them towards the other side of the hold.
 
We see 2 new Betty recruits.  Kelly is a well built, medium height, 30-ish sassy female.  An ex-Marine wearing her Colonial Marine outfit.  Quaid a mid 20ís male, slim build, casually dressed in jeans and T-shirt, whose trade is simply fixing things.

CLOSE UP of Johner moving over the Capsule with a scanning device.

JOHNER
Looks like itís air tight...seals are fucked...weíre gonna have
to bust her out. (looks at Quaid) Alright man do your stuff!

QUAID

No problem my friend!

Quaid chooses a Cutter Tool, tears around the top of the Capsule, then the crew lifts off the top revealing Call and Vaughan huddled together inside.

KELLY
Now ainít that just the most romantic thing you ever saw?

JOHNER
Like Hell it is. (into headset) Vriess we got a stower here!

VRIESS (V.O.)

What about Call...is she ok?

JOHNER (to Vriess)

I donít know, youíre the droid specialist?

VRIESS (V.O.)

Check behind her neck for signs, below the right ear.

JOHNER
What kinda signs?  I ainít done this goddam crap before!

VRIESS (V.O.)

Youíll know.

Johner bends down to feel behind Calls neck, just catching movement from the other Auton.  Suspicious, he switches his attention to Vaughan...leaning close...leaning TOO CLOSE.

SHOT OF Vaughan suddenly LUNGING forward, head-butting Johner sending him REELING backwards.  

Vaughan quickly produces a knife holding it outwards threateningly.

Kelly just as quickly produces a Pulse Rifle, carefully training it on him.

KELLY

Ok man!  Weíre not looking for any trouble here.  Just put down
the goddam blade?  NOW!!

QUAID

Címon friend, weíre the good guys here.  You left all those bad
asses behind you.  We just wanna help our shipmate.

VAUGHAN

You canít help her?

QUAID
What does that mean exactly?

VRIESS (V.O.)

Hey you guys, Johner, Kelly, Quaid whatís goiní on back there?

Kelly pulls the headset off Johner whoís still out cold.

KELLY (to Vriess)
Weíre all fine here, though Johnerís temporarily outta service.

VRIESS (V.O.)

What happened??

KELLY
He got fucked...by a robot!

VRIESS (V.O.)

Awww shit, I wish I couldíve seen that!

QUAID (to Vaughan)
What do you mean we canít help her, can you, is that it?

VAUGHAN
Iím the only one who can, but not here.

KELLY
Why the Hell not, we got all the latest tech stuff?  Besides...
it doesnít look like you have much of a choice now does it?

QUAID
Look friend, if itís any help, her name is Annalee Call and she
was on assignment for us, ok?

KELLY (to Quaid)

What the Hell you telliní him that for?

Thereís a short pause.

VAUGHAN

Alright, Iím going to need a neural connector, liquid conduits,
3 plasma cords...and something to jump start her with.

QUAID

Yeah I think we can just about manage all that.

KELLY (to Vaughan)
The balls in your court Mr.?

CLOSE UP of Vaughan slowly putting the knife down, THEN sliding it across the floor to Kelly.

CUT TO

INT.   BETTY SLEEPING QUARTERS. (15 MINUTES LATER)

HIGH ANGLED SHOT of Call and Vaughan securely strapped down inside separate Cryoís.  The others gather round as Quaid continues connecting the robots to monitors nearby, but more importantly too each other.

KELLY (to Johner)
You alright man?

JOHNER

Nothing wrong a couple of cold beers canít fix!

VRIESS (to Vaughan)
You sure about this...sheís already had one shock too many?

VAUGHAN

Our synthetic structure is completely redesigned, using organic
materials blended with Titanium Alloy.  Like our encasing, very
strong, with growth extract adapted to regenerate.

SIRTIS (to Johner)

Yíknow I read somewhere an Auton is supposed to be 5% edible.

JOHNER

Holy shit, thanks but no thanks!

VRIESS (to Vaughan)
So what happened to Call, how come she was fried?

VAUGHAN
She allowed that to happen to get what she came for.  Call knew
what she was doing, (smiles) someone else did too.

VRIESS

No wonder they tried pulling the plug on you guys.

Quaid finishes connecting up in the B.G.

QUAID

Alright my friends, weíre ready to Rock ní Roll.

VAUGHAN (to Quaid)
Remember...short controlled releases to help her recover.  Once
you start the process do not stop...no matter what happens...or
you may lose us both.

Quaid nods then walks to a lever beside Vaughan and gently begins PUSHING it FORWARD.

DISSOLVE TO:

INT.   TERRAN SECRET ENTRANCE.   STAIRWELL.

ANGLED SHOT of Ripley and Lauren finally reaching the bottom of the stairwell.  They enter a short corridor seemingly with a tall blank end.

Lauren pushes in a small segment of the end wall, it majestically sinks down with a low HUM, revealing yet another room.

LAUREN
After you!

We TRACK behind Ripley and Lauren as they slowly enter.

INT.   TERRAN COMMAND STATION. (CONT.)

Terrans Command Station is strewn with cobwebs, dank walls and poor lighting.  A cylindrical room with 2 exits, the one they came in and another pressure door directly opposite.  One half of the room is cluttered with machines, rusty old computer towers several meters high, non of which work anymore.  In the other half some lights blink quietly on a terminal before half a dozen steps, which run round half of the Station.  At the top of the steps 2 closed shutters also take up half the room.

RIPLEY
Where does that other door lead to? (indicated)

LAUREN
To the Supply Tunnel, we think.

They stop in the middle of the room.

LAUREN (CONT.)
Ok first off 2 things.  First you gotta solemnly promise me you
wonít breath a word about this place...Ďcos Maisy would kill me
if she knew I brought you here?

RIPLEY

Cross my heart and hope to die...whatís the second?

LAUREN

Close your eyes!

RIPLEY
What...?

LAUREN

I said close Ďem...please?

RIPLEY

Ok, but this had better be worth it?

LAUREN

Oh, it is...I promise.

CLOSE UP on Ripley gently closing her eyes.

Lauren flicks a switch on the terminal (O.S.) starting a low WHIRRING sound.

CLOSE UP (CONT.) Ripleyís face is slowly bathed in an OCEAN BLUE light.

That same light quickly spreads across the room, but we donít see itís source...not yet!

The WHIRRING sound stops.

LAUREN (O.S.)
Ok you can open them now.

RIPLEY
Are you sure?

LAUREN (O.S.)
Sure Iím sure!

CLOSE UP (CONT.) as Ripley opens her eyes again!  A wondrous smile crosses her face, as though she canít believe what she sees...!

WIDE ANGLED SHOT, DOLLYING TOWARDS the now open shutters, through the window we see the whole island is HOLLOW, outside a GIGANTIC Aquarium teaming with life!  Every kind of marine life appears to be here...schools of different fish, Sharks, Whales, Turtles, Crabs even Dolphins.  Dozens of species, some Ripley had never seen, living together under one roof.

TRACKING SHOT behind Ripley and Lauren as they slowly climb up the steps.

LAUREN

So...what do you think?

RIPLEY

What do I think??  I think itís the most beautiful sight I ever
saw in my whole life!

LAUREN (O.S.)

Good!

We see VARIOUS SHOTS inside the Aquarium.  The Fish, The Dolphins, the Great White Shark.

RIPLEY

I was wrong, the whole world is beautiful, we just never see it
that way no more.  Iíve spent so much time, out there among the  
stars...too much time.

LAUREN

When I die thatís where I wanna go...out among the stars...into
the realm of eternity.

RIPLEY
Space is cold and unforgiving!!  Thereís so much out there man
hasnít seen yet...places he shouldnít...!

LAUREN
Will you take me...to the stars one day?

RIPLEY

Oh, I think my space jockeying days are well and truly over.

Thereís a short pause, Ripley still gazing into the Aquarium.

RIPLEY
How did this all this happen?

LAUREN

A few years before we came here the whole island was sealed up.
Then, sometime after we arrived, the army came back again...and
discovered all these animals trapped inside.  So they converted
the whole place into this giant aquarium, drilling airshafts in
the hills to huge airpockets underneath, building feeding tanks
on the sea bed below. (smiles) Our very own ecologically stable
Aquarium, undisturbed for 2 decades.

RIPLEY

Yours, I thought you werenít supposed to know about this place?

LAUREN
Well...weíre not...you know what I mean.

RIPLEY
Yeah I know, I only hope for your sakes they donít.

We SLOWLY PULL BACK as Lauren and Ripley continue chatting.

CUT TO:

INT.   BETTY SLEEPING QUARTERS.

DROP SHOT above Call and Vaughan, his whole body begins to shake violently.  We slowly ZOOM IN on Call, her eyes FLICKER OPEN then she speaks, NOT with her voice...FATHERíS! (RESURRECTION)

CALL

Civilian vessel on-line.  Emergency departure authorized!

SMASH CUT TO:

EXT.   HIGH EARTH ORBIT.

PANNING LEFT as the Betty speeds towards Earths Southern Hemisphere.

CUT TO:

INT.   BETTY SLEEPING QUARTERS. (LATER)

ANGLED SHOT of the Betty crew watching Call.

CALL

Evacuation complete!!  Non-human presence detected in levels 3
through 12.

CLOSE UP on Vriess nervously biting his lip.

CALL

Window of Departure approaching!!  U.S.M. Auriga will impact in
45 seconds.

A short pause!

CALL (CONT.)

Intruder Alert in Bay Area 12.  Containment field now activated.

CLOSE UP of Johner and Kelly staring at each other!

CALL

Warning!  Shield collapsing, structural failure in aft Sector B
imminent...30 seconds to impact!

ANGLED SHOT OF Vaughan, still shaking but the straps holding him in place.

CALL

Non-human presence detected at Air Locks 2, 3, 4, 7, 9, 10, 11,
and 14...15 seconds to impact!

Another short pause.

CALL (CONT.)

Warning!!  Hull breach in Air Lock 7, attempting to compensate.  
U.S.M. Auriga will impact in 5 seconds 4,3,2,1.  Thank You!

The Hold falls silent as we PAN AROUND the crew...SPEECHLESS!

CLOSE UP as Call suddenly RISES.  She looks blankly back at the others.

VRIESS (O.S.)
You ok babe?

CALL

We did it.

Quaid begins removing the various connections from Call.  Vaughan still unconscious.

VRIESS

You ok?

CALL
Never felt better.

Quaid covers Vaughanís body carefully.

QUAID

Oh well, at least one of you made it.

Call turns to see Vaughan motionless.  She CLUTCHES him, trying to find some sign of life.

CALL

No no, youíre not gonna leave me behind with these people, wake
up Vaughan...please wake up?

SHOT OF Vriess seemingly disappointed.

The others watch helpless as Call tries to wake Vaughan in vain then SLUMPS over him.  

Slowly Vaughans head begins to move, then he unexpectedly RISES from the sheets.

VAUGHAN

Anybody got an aspirin?

Call reaches out giving Vaughan a welcome hug.  

Vriess decides heís seen enough and heads for the cockpit!

KELLY
So, what shall we do next?

CALL

We have to go get Ripley!

DISSOLVE TO:

EXT.   TERRAN ISLAND.   THE GREAT LAKE.   NIGHT. (LATER)

DROP SHOT over The Great Lake slowly ZOOMING IN!  Half a dozen boats full of nuns light an area of the partly drained Lake, 2 others slowly wade towards SOMETHING in the water.

MAISY (V.O.)
What is it?

JEAN (V.O.)
I donít know.

BECKY (V.O.)
Whereís Lauren?

JEAN (V.O.)
I donít know that either.

BECKY (V.O.)

You donít know much do you?

RUTH (V.O.)
Sheís sleeping...I know because I went to her dorm calling her,
but she didnít answer.

MAISY (V.O.)
If I didnít know any better Iíd swear that girl was stone deaf.

DROP SHOT (CONT.) still ZOOMING IN we get close enough to see the PROJECTILE just above the waterline!  Itís already open...and EMPTY!!

CUT TO:

INT.   BETTY COCKPIT.

Call eases into the left pilot seat next to Vriess.

CALL

How long?

VRIESS

About 20 Minutes.

She slides back in the chair impatiently.

SMASH CUT TO:

EXT.   EARTH.   40,000 FEET.

PANNING LEFT as the Betty SPEEDS above the clouds, then DOWN as she DIVES towards the SOUTH ATLANTIC far below, disappearing into the clouds.

CUT TO:

INT.   TERRAN COMMAND STATION. (30 MINUTES LATER)

WIDE ANGLED SHOT as Ripley looks out into the Aquarium, Lauren sits down on the steps behind.

LAUREN

...anyway I guess we should be getting back soon, unfortunately
we canít get to the Service Tunnels from here.  Thereís another
secret entrance like the one you saw, come to think of it there
are 4 we know of and countless passages...!

While Lauren continues talking O.S. we FOCUS ON Ripley still staring into the Aquarium.  She looks disturbed but not frightened by...SOMETHING!

DISSOLVE TO:

INT.   THE AQUARIUM.

(DREAM SEQUENCE)

ALIEN VISION we slowly MOVE towards Ripley whoís staring straight at us.

INT.   COMMAND STATION.

Ripley gently reaches out towards the window!

ANGLED SHOT of the NEWBORN (RESURRECTION) serenely observing Ripley from the Aquarium.

They admire each other for a short while, hands touching between the glass, then the Newborn starts to move uncomfortably.

CLOSE UP of the Newborn, itís eyes TERRIFIED, SCREAMING BUBBLES from itís mouth...!

RIPLEY

Whatís wrong...whatís wrong with my baby??

EXTREME CLOSE UP on the Newborns chest, something inside begins PUNCHING OUTWARD repeatedly!

SHOT OF Ripley BANGING on the window frantically!

RIPLEY

No...leave my baby alone...leave her alone...!!


EXTREME CLOSE UP as the Newborns chest suddenly EXPLODES, the CHEST-BURSTER inside SQUEALING through BLOODY water!

RIPLEY (ECHO into CUT)

NNOOOOOOOOOO!!

Ripley is still banging on the window when...!

(DREAM SEQUENCE ENDS)

SMASH CUT TO:

INT.   COMMAND STATION.

Ripley feels someone grabbing her arms, STARTLED she turns to see Lauren trying to bring her round.  She peers out into the aquarium taking a deep breath.

RIPLEYíS P.O.V. sees nothing but the fish...just the fish.  

CLOSE UP of Ripley turning to face Lauren, a look of terror haunts her face.

LAUREN (O.S.)
Wow...what was that all about, you ok?

RIPLEY

I'm fine now...really.

LAUREN
What happened?

RIPLEY
Something, like it was out of a dream but so real?

LAUREN

Scary dreams again huh?

RIPLEY
Yeah, I guess.

Then they are both STARTLED by the sound of a pressure door opening (O.S.).

THEIR P.O.V. Mother Superior enters flanked by two other nuns, then a hooded figure in a dark cloak also enters.  They remain at the pressure door a few seconds then Mother Superior walks towards them, stopping before the steps.

LAUREN

Mother...you knew about this place?

Mother Superior nods reassuringly.

MOTHER SUPERIOR (to Ripley)
You have a visitor. (gestures to Lauren) Come child, it's late.

RIPLEYíS P.O.V. Lauren and Mother Superior walk back towards the pressure door and exit.  The cloaked figure walks towards her.

CLOSE UP as cloaked figure stops and removes the hood, itís Annalee Call.  

Ripley turns away looking out into the aquarium.

CALL

Hi...it's good to see you again Ripley-!

RIPLEY

I told you never to come here until I gave the signal!

CALL
Yímean the signal from the transmitter that doesn't work right?

Ripley doesn't answer the accusation.  

CALL (CONT.)
I had to see you.

TRACKING SHOT as Call climbs the steps to stand beside Ripley, they stare into the Aquarium.

CALL
Sure is a beautiful sight.

RIPLEY
Yes it is isn't it?  So...what is it that's so important?

CALL
I came to tell you it's over, they're dead, all of them.

RIPLEY

Funny thing is you really believe that don't you...all of you?  
You don't understand them like I do!!  Itís a survivor...it'll
never be over, this is only the beginning!!

CALL

Maybe, but sometimes things do work out now and then?

A short pause, again we see inside the Aquarium.

RIPLEY
You wanna tell me about your little...expedition?

CALL
Well, I got onto the base ok, but I had some problems accessing
the Network Computer, the security around this thing is fucking
unbelievable.

RIPLEY

That figures.  So you didnít find anything?

CALL
Just a couple of items.  I can confirm all of Aurigas lifeboats
are accounted for, still no sign of the whereabouts of the crew.
Also, Systemsí rescue ship Aonasus was the only vessel in range
the whole time they left Earth for Pluto...she left before they
arrived.  Nothing strange there!

RIPLEY

Oh really...why do you say that?

CALL
I got stationed on Aonasus for the salvage, if she was involved
I wouldíve known. (pauses) Besides, there couldnít have been an
alien on board, you hadnít even been born yet.  

RIPLEY
Thanks!

CALL
Anyway, I eventually got on-sight with the away team...I mean I
was right there on the ship wreck.

Ripley turns to face Call.
 
RIPLEY

What did you see?

CALL
In a word..."nothing".  No slime, no eggs...absolutely nothing.

RIPLEY  
What about the flight recorder?

CALL

Well, we found it ok but couldn't release it, fucking thing got
jammed inside the holder...so...I accessed it myself-!

RIPLEY

You did what??

CALL

I had no choice, there wasn't time for anything else.

RIPLEY

Jesus Christ Call I thought we agreed, no hero stuff??  They're
supposed to think we're dead, thatís the whole idea!

CALL

They will, I zapped the recorder before I pulled the plug, itís
all safe and sound right up here. (points to her head)  

RIPLEY
I hope youíre right, we donít need them coming looking for us.

CALL
No problem, I fixed everything!

Thereís a short pause.

CALL

Which only leaves one tiny item that kinda bothers me.

RIPLEY
Thrill me?
       
CALL
Well, I guess itís nothing, but during the alien attack someone
sent an encrypted sub-frequency call towards the outer rim.

RIPLEY

S.O.S.?

CALL
Unknown!  I do know the Command Ship was somewhere out there in
Zeta II...but why send a transmission there with Home Base only
hours away?

RIPLEY
Ever get the feeling you might be missing something?

Another short pause.

CALL

Anyhow unless somebody screws up, the army guys will assume all
5 of us fried on the ship.

RIPLEY

5...there were only 4 of us when we left?

CALL  
Yeah I wondered about that one too.  Seems the computer somehow
confused that thing on the Betty as being human.  A malfunction
or something maybe, I don't know.  Lucky for us I guess.

RIPLEY

If they ever found out about that they'd never stop looking.

CALL

But they haven't, so like I said it's over, time to move on.

Ripley surveys her surroundings intently as if in deep thought.

RIPLEY

I already have, I just didn't know it at first.

CALL

What are you saying Ripley...you don't belong here...this isn't
you?  You're not even a believer?

RIPLEY
Maybe itís because I don't know what to believe anymore, I feel
I belong here.  My own little world where no ones gonna try and
fuck me over.

CALL

I guess you really have made up your mind after all.

RIPLEY
I'm sorry Call, this is just something I have to do. (pauses) I
can still see them behind my eyes, hear them inside my head.

CALL

Youíre wrong, I need you to trust me on this!  I've been to the
the accident sight, I've seen all the evidence...there's no way
an alien could've survived that crash!

RIPLEY
I wanna believe you I really do, but they still keep on coming!

CALL

Not anymore they donít, I told you theyíre dead already-!

RIPLEY

You donít know that...and nothing else matters!

CALL

Nothing??  What about us, your friends...donít we matter...what
about me?

RIPLEY
Of course you matter-!

CALL
Then come with us youíre home now?  You told me thereís so much
to do, so much living to catch up on.  Well now thereís a whole
world just waiting for you.

RIPLEY

Youíre never gonna give this up are you?

CALL

Never in a million years.

Another short pause.

RIPLEY

Well, I guess I could come back someday.

CALL
No doubt about it!  So...whatís it gonna be?

We slowly PULL BACK as Ripley and Call stare at each other, then out into the Aquarium.

CUT TO:

EXT.   CONVENT.   MAIN LANDING BAY.   NIGHT. (CLOUDY) (1 HOUR LATER)

HIGH ANGLED SHOT of the Convents Landing Bay, a slightly raised circular platform set several meters away from the Main Entrance, surrounded by trees to shield it from the wind.  The Betty stands in the center of the bay, taking up most of the space.

REVERSE TRACKING SHOT of Ripley, now in leather gear, walking with Johner towards the Betty. Following on are the crew, Lauren, Mother Superior and a few available nuns.

RIPLEY (to Johner)
The Army is probably watching this place like a hawk.  You sure
you werenít spotted?

JOHNER

You worry too much.

RIPLEY

Alright I wonít.

Ripley then stops to face Lauren as the crew boards the Betty.

RIPLEY
You could still come with us yíknow, if you really wanted to?

LAUREN
I know...guess Iím just not ready to move on yet.

RIPLEY

Well, this is good-bye for now.

LAUREN

You will come back and see us wonít you...see me?

RIPLEY

I promise, maybe sooner than you think.

They hug each other warmly then Ripley heads towards The Bettyís boarding ramp, at the top she turns to wave good-bye then disappears inside the ship.

WIDE ANGLED SHOT as the Bettyís engines ROAR ot life.  She slowly lifts off the platform and heads into the night sky.

CLOSE UP of Lauren watching the ship finally disappear in the clouds.

LAUREN
Mother, do you think weíll ever see them again?

MOTHER SUPERIOR (O.S.)
Perhaps, but do not dwell on dreams young Lauren, always expect
the unexpected with open arms.

LAUREN

Yes Mother.

We DOLLY AWAY from Landing Bay as the nuns turn and head back towards the Convent.

FADE TO BLACK:

FADE IN:

EXT.   DEEP SPACE.

Slowly PANNING LEFT through outer space, the stars glistening in the silence until...!

Space is suddenly engulfed in a LOUD RUMBLING sound, a HUGE ship GRACEFULLY passes over-head, going on and on into the distance like it never ends.  Large towers sprouting from a web of structures, like a city over 7 miles long, dozens of Gun Emplacements visible.  

The U.S.M. GARGANTUAN continues through the SHOT.  

CUT TO:

INT.   BETTY COCKPIT. (3 HOURS LATER)

SHOT OF a bottle of Champaign being POPPED open with laughter and songs in the B.G.

The celebration of the alien victory continues, Vriess pours Ripley a drink, then she walks over to Johner.

RIPLEY (to Johner)
So what happens next?

Johner searches a locker, produces a small identity card which we CLOSE UP on.

JOHNER (O.S.)

us some highly recommended plastic surgeon, like when heís done
even your own mother wonít recognize you.  He donít come cheap,
his methods ainít exactly pleasurable...but theyíre effective.
Nothing but the best (winks) right?

RIPLEY
Right!  And thatís where weíre heading now?

JOHNER
I kinda persuaded Vriess to take the longer route, just in case
you have a change of heart.  

RIPLEY

Not a chance!

In another area of the cockpit Vaughan and Call stand close together.

CALL
I never said ďThank youĒ.

VAUGHAN

For what exactly?

CALL

Saving me.

VAUGHAN

I didnít really know what I was doing...!

Call strokes his face tenderly.

CALL

I know...you did what you had to do.

VAUGHAN

You really donít remember do you?

CALL

Sometimes I feel like I havenít achieved everything yet?

VAUGHAN
Yes, there is a great deal to achieve.

CALL

So why donít you tell me?

VAUGHAN
I only know that you were given something that would help us...
something our people needed to...! (pauses)

CALL
What is it?

CLOSE UP of Vriess staring at Vaughan.  Johner steps forward to get the crews attention.

JOHNER
Hey, I almost forgot something here, a small matter of introís.
Some shit like that.

QUAID
Right on Brother!

Johner introduces the new members of the crew.

JOHNER
This is Fixer Quaid!! (indicated) You gotta problem and already
asked him first...forget it.  Complete with his own gizmos, the
only dude youíll ever need.  But donít quote me on that!

QUAID

Hmm, Iím not sure how to take that?

KELLY
With balls man, with balls.

Johner moves on to the Co-Pilot.

JOHNER
Co-Pilot Sirtis!! (indicated) Straight outta Flight Schools top
brass, ainít no ship she canít handle, taught Vriess just about
everything he knows...including how to fly this junk!

CALL

So you got to spread your wings at last Vriess...cool.

Vriess nods appreciatively not looking at Call.

JOHNER
