I found this movie randomly on IMDB while looking up to see what John Hurt is doing nowadays, I had never even heard of it before. Has anybody seen it?

IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1706620/

I wouldn't say it looks like the movie of the year necessarily but it seems a pretty interesting take on the old apocalyptic survival tale, not to mention a pretty talented cast as well

Oh, that looks like a good find definitely. I haven't seen it yet, but it's going to change.
I'll post my impressions after I watch it.

Yeah, I saw this earlier last year. It stars Chris Evans... you know, Captain America. It's a good movie, very violent. There's a great sequence in the middle of the film that takes place in the dark.

That's cool, so 1 positive review out of 1 movie watchers so far

I'm going to try to watch it sometime soon as well. I'm sure there will definitely be some unrealistic things about the idea of mankind surviving solely on a (constantly running?) train as well, but I'm very curious about it regardless.

I forgot about this thread. I saw Snowpiercer quite some time ago.
It didn't impress me too much, although it had some good visuals and sometimes atmosphere was really realistic and intense. It was quite naive though and just seemed to be a nicely done fairy tale. It was OK to watch it, but it was nothing special in my opinion.

I agree with that opinion. Overall it was a nice unique story visually executed pretty well in a lot of the scenes, but of course the science behind it (or lack thereof as in a lot of these sorts of movies) was greatly flawed and the ending was for me a pretty huge disappointment, regardless of how you imagine things progress from the point where it's cut off.

I felt like with what the first half of the movie was, they could have made it into so much more in the second half compared to what actually unfolded. Could have been a lot more interesting.
